Description
The Senior Technical Writer will be a member of the Carry-on Special Technologies Engineering and Integration (STEI) Technical Writing team, focusing primarily on researching, writing, editing, and proofreading technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals and procedures. The ideal candidate has basic to advanced knowledge writing a variety of technical documents, to include utilizing technical writing programs such as oXygen XML Author. Additionally, high-level communication skills, a customer focused mindset, and a team player mentality are required.

Major Responsibilities
- Collaborating productively with all subject matter experts (SME) within an agile environment to develop appropriate technical documentation
- Ensuring technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications, and adhering to configuration management (CM) standards for quality, graphics coverage, format, and style using approved software tools
- Documenting the planning and implementation of security controls, processes, and procedures
- Drafting and verifying accuracy of standard documentation sets
- Possessing developed communication skills and the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely, employing technical writing techniques

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in technical writing, english, or equivalent work experience
- Possess an active TS/SCI clearance
- Eight or more years of technical writing experience
- Basic knowledge of XML
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Customer focused and a self-starter
Desired Skills
- Master's degree in technical writing or english
- Previous experience with XML
- Be DoD 8140-compliant with the equivalent of an IAT II certification (Security+ or higher)
