Description

SAIC is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Field Service Representative (FSR) for an immediate opening with the SENSE + INTERDICTION (SENSEI) Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS)/Counter Unmanned Systems (CUxS) Research and Development (R&D) program located in Crane, IN. This position requires technical expertise in the areas of RADAR technology, electro-optical and infra-red cameras, electronic warfare systems, command and control systems, and data distribution technology. We are looking for a candidate with significant SENSEI system knowledge to serve on a team of FSRs who operate in both Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) locations. The teammate must be capable of high-level output centered on the FSR Team's ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the SENSEI system in its multiple configurations.
The Field Service Representative will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the SENSEI system, responsible for the technical integration, operational advisory, and lifecycle support of the U.S. Navy system.
  • Help ensure success by working directly with the government customer's Lead Technician and engineers to manage the tasking for the FSR Team that would include overseas, CONUS, and local garrison support.
  • Leading small teams and delegating tasking, while managing the overall FSR support to the program.
  • Provide semi-professional technical support for engineers working in such areas as research, design, development, and testing.
  • Assemble system components according to engineering drawings.
  • Install mounts, brackets, cables, connectors, electronic equipment, and labels.
  • Annotate and modify documentation.
  • Be proficient in operation of the SENSEI system to include installation, testing, and troubleshooting of all current in-service systems.
  • Possess general knowledge of CUAS gyro-stabilized, multi-sensor gimbals and manufacturing of integrated mounting systems, and the Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) associated to these systems.
  • Perform tasks such as integration of system components, modifications to systems, and testing system functionality.
  • Assist in creating training materials, job aids, and lesson plans for SENSEI operators and be prepared to conduct on-site training.
  • Interface with the customer to handle service inquiries and problems to include performing customer support activities involving the installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
  • It is expected that you will work cooperatively with the government customer team within the Integrated Counter Unmanned Systems Branch across four lines of operation: development engineering, software engineering, sustainment engineering, logistics and testing.
  • Provide on-site system maintenance and technical troubleshooting as well as operator support and training.
  • Identify, source, and track replacement components and conduct functional tests to return articles to service.
  • Document maintenance and inspection actions while also reviewing and implementing service advisory/service bulletins to provide analysis and recommendations for changes and improvements to equipment installation, operation, modification, maintenance, training, and failure mode analysis for equipment.
  • Requires a deep understanding of multiple disparate sensor modalities, in particular those that are applied for CUAS/CUxS purposes.
  • Required to have a minimum of two years of experience with the SENSEI system
  • Knowledge of parts, materials and processes related to electrical and mechanical components
  • Knowledge of CUAS/CUxS operations and maintenance processes.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design), technical manuals, handbooks, sketches, and block diagrams.
  • Ability to use various hand, power driven and specialty tools (common, RJ-11, RJ-45, pin crimpers, wire strippers, pin extractors, punch down tools, etc.) and use electronic test equipment (multi-meters and spectrum analyzers).
  • Must have an understanding of system troubleshooting and root cause identification, with the ability to reference technical and commercial manuals in order to identify and assist with issue resolution
  • Basic understanding of network equipment and devices like routers, switches, and firewalls

Qualifications

Required Education:
  • Associate's Degree and nine (9) years related experience; or, high school diploma/GED and eleven (11) years related experience and related advanced certification; military experience will be taken in lieu of college degree.


Required Clearance:
  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required.


Required Skills:
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and verbal / written communication skills, able to convey information across multiple customer and corporate audiences
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Cybersecurity Workforce Level II certification (i.e. Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP)
    Comfortable working in potentially hazardous locations
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid U.S. passport
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license
  • Must be available for a flexible work schedule, available for extended or weekend hours sometimes on short notice to include holidays as needed
  • Must be able to meet all OCONUS location specific requirements as outlined by DoD 4500.54-G, Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Must be willing to travel 35-50% of time for OCONUS rotations as well as additional periodic CONUS travel for system integration activities, ECP updates, on-site maintenance, and fielding/training events.


Desired Skills or Required Certifications:
  • Experience supporting C4I at NSWC Crane, NAVAIR and working knowledge of CUAS, CUxS principles and procedures
  • Experience with DoD weapons systems or other military electronic systems
  • USMC Military Occupational Skill (MOS) 59XX, 35XX, 72XX, 28XX background


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass DOT Medical Exam
  • Ability to meet all USMC and/or USN "Sea Duty" screening requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 80 lbs unassisted for short distances
  • Ability to ascent/descend stairs, ladders and ramps while carrying up to 40 lbs
  • Comfortable working at heights (> 150 feet)
  • Ability to achieve advanced tower climbing, rescue climbing, rigging, and hoisting certifications
  • Ability to work in small, cramped spaces
  • Ability to perform required job duties outdoors in conditions that may include extreme high and low temperatures, rain, snow, and high wind
  • Ability to bend and/or twist legs, arms, and body within normal range of motion
