Position Overview

A mission-driven technology and security solutions provider is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support a high-visibility federal defense program. This role focuses on evaluating, implementing, and validating cybersecurity requirements across IL2, IL5, and IL6 environments while ensuring compliance with applicable security frameworks and protecting critical systems from advanced cyber threats.

The ideal candidate brings documented expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, advanced threat defense, and securing high-assurance environments. This position plays a key role in safeguarding critical program information and strengthening system resilience across the full development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
Review, interpret, and implement cybersecurity requirements for IL2, IL5, and IL6 systems.
Develop and execute defensive strategies to counter advanced persistent threats (APTs).
Ensure compliance with applicable federal cybersecurity frameworks and standards.
Provide technical leadership in cybersecurity risk assessment, mitigation, and program protection efforts.
Design, implement, and test security controls that protect Critical Program Information (CPI).
Support hardware and software assurance activities, including system hardening and reverse engineering analysis.
Integrate security throughout the system development lifecycle (SDLC).
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align cybersecurity strategies with overall program objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Liberal Arts, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
7+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, with demonstrated expertise in advanced threat defense.
Experience working in IL2, IL5, and IL6 environments.
Must meet DoD 8570 / 8140 requirements, including IAM Level III certification.
One or more industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+.
Active U.S. Government Secret clearance or higher.
Ability to commute daily to the Dahlgren, VA area.
