Senior Defense Systems Architect / C2 & Missile Defense
Location: Richardson, TX
Compensation: $260,000 (commensurate with experience)
Clearance: Active clearance typically required (program dependent)
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Defense Systems Architect to support advanced Missile Defense and Command & Control (C2) architectures in a complex, multi-domain operational environment. This role focuses on architectural design, data integration, and systems engineering for next-generation defense systems operating across air, space, maritime, land, cyber, subsurface, electromagnetic, and information domains.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in DoD architecture frameworks, missile defense systems, battle management, and data-centric architectures, and can operate at both the strategic architectural level and hands-on technical design level.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documentation for Missile Defense and C2 systems.
• Create and document alternative C2 architectural approaches using DoDAF 2.0 and related frameworks.
• Contribute to the technical design and implementation of Data Mesh–based services architectures, including core shared services.
• Design multi-domain integration architectures spanning air, space, maritime, land, cyber, subsurface, electromagnetic, and information domains.
• Produce Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and API specifications to enable system interoperability.
• Support system-of-systems integration across distributed and federated environments.
• Collaborate with senior technical leadership, systems engineers, and program stakeholders to align architecture with mission requirements.
• Ensure architectural designs support scalability, resilience, security, and coalition interoperability.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
• 10+ years of experience in:
◦ Missile Defense systems, or
◦ Command and Control (C2) / Battle Management system development or integration.
• Strong experience with DoD Architecture Frameworks, including:
◦ DoDAF 2.0
◦ MODAF
◦ Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SEL)
• Deep understanding of C4ISR systems, including:
◦ Track correlation
◦ Sensor fusion
◦ Fire control integration
◦ Battle management
• Strong background in data architecture, including:
◦ Data mesh patterns
◦ Federated data governance
◦ Microservices architectures
◦ Event-driven systems

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches for DoD systems.
• Knowledge of the F2T2EA kill chain, with emphasis on sensor fusion and data correlation.
• Prior experience supporting major defense platforms or integrators.
• Experience with Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS), Multi-Level Security (MLS), and Zero Trust architectures.
• Familiarity with defense and interoperability standards, including:
◦ CMOSS, SOSA, FACE
◦ OMS/UCI
◦ STANAG compliance
• Experience supporting JADC2 or ABMS programs.
• Knowledge of missile defense systems such as AEGIS, THAAD, or Patriot.
• Understanding of DDIL operations and coalition interoperability challenges.
• Background integrating AI/ML capabilities into defense systems.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as Project Maven or Lattice.
