[Responsibilities]
- Capture and maintain program requirements baseline within an established requirements database
- Analyze, develop, and decompose Level 1 requirements into detailed Levels 2 through 4 specifications through active cross-discipline collaboration
- Develop and execute robust requirements verification strategies to ensure comprehensive system validation and sell-off compliance
- Coordinate with Design and Test leads to develop effective validation and verification plans and procedures
- Ensure the system meets all performance and non-performance criteria as specified by program objectives
- Champion and implement process improvement initiatives to optimize system engineering processes
- Lead troubleshooting and system development activities to resolve complex technical challenges
- Interface with external customer scientists, engineers, and program managers to ensure alignment on technical requirements and deliverables
- Work closely with the program leadership team to drive project success and achieve key milestones
- Present program status, issues, and successes through clear oral presentations and written reports
- Occasional domestic travel (less than 10%) required
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with minimum 10 years of relevant experience; or Advanced Degree with minimum 7 years of experience; or 14 years of direct relevant experience in absence of a degree
- Demonstrated expertise in hardware/software systems engineering, requirements analysis, and verification
- Proven experience in requirements capture, decomposition, traceability, and configuration management
- Proficiency with requirements database tools such as DOORS®
- Active DoD Secret security clearance (required)
- Strong communication skills for both oral presentations and technical reporting
[Preferred Skills]
- Experience in technical leadership roles such as Lead Engineer or Senior Systems Engineer
- Background in multidiscipline system design, integration, and testing
- Experience maintaining requirements traceability matrices and participating in configuration control boards (CCBs)
