Markon is seeking a Software Systems Architect to act as a Technical Lead for an IC customer on a large software development program. As a Tech Lead, you will guide architecture decisions, oversee system integration and security alignment, and serve as the primary technical representative to government leadership and cross-organizational working groups. You will play a key role in strengthening authentication and security posture across enterprise systems.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to Systems Engineers and Developers
- Deliver status updates to Contract PMO and Government leads
- Support monthly Program Management Reviews (PMRs)
- Represent the team at staff meetings, technical exchange meetings (TEMs), and community working groups
- Coordinate Sponsor responses to enterprise-level action items
- Shepherd new requirements through the Sponsor's requirements pipeline
- Ensure system designs align with enterprise architecture and security requirements
- Partner with security engineers to address and remediate findings from system security scans
- Prepare communications and technical summaries for upcoming releases
- Work with government and project leadership to prioritize development efforts
- Coordinate with Cloud Service Providers to meet PKI and authentication requirements
- Research and recommend emerging technologies to enhance enterprise authentication and security posture
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor of Science degree and 15+ years of relevant experience
- Significant hands-on experience in Systems Architecture and Engineering
- Familiarity with Sponsor enterprise systems
- Working knowledge of PKI certificates
- Strong experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and/or Oracle Cloud)
- Strong hands-on Linux experience (command-line proficiency required)
- Experience with scripting and programming languages such as BASH and Python
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Experience using Jira
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing and managing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) systems, including:
- Certificate Authorities (CAs)
- Registration Authorities (RAs)
- Cryptographic algorithms and key management
- Certificate revocation processes and trust chains
- Experience with configuration and automation tools (CloudFormation, Puppet, Groovy)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible or Terraform
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, Oracle)
- Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with container technologies
- Experience troubleshooting networking across cloud and hybrid environments
- Experience configuring and managing Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
- Strong networking knowledge (ports, routing tables, subnets, VPNs, firewalls, routers)
- Experience working in AWS cloud environments
