As a Prime Government Contractor for a major government organization in Washington DC, we are currently searching for a talented Network Engineer with Secret Clearance to work in Washington D.C
The Network Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, security, and sustainment of enterprise network infrastructure supporting mission-critical government systems. This role ensures secure, high-availability connectivity across LAN, WAN, data center, cloud, and hybrid environments while maintaining compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-53 controls, and agency-specific cybersecurity policies.

The Network Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, security, and sustainment of enterprise network infrastructure supporting mission-critical government systems. This role ensures secure, high-availability connectivity across LAN, WAN, data center, cloud, and hybrid environments while maintaining compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-53 controls, and agency-specific cybersecurity policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Design & Architecture
- Design and implement enterprise LAN/WAN solutions.
- Develop network diagrams (logical/physical) and configuration documentation.
- Engineer high-availability solutions (HSRP/VRRP, failover, load balancing).
- Support network modernization initiatives (SDN, automation, Zero Trust).
2. Infrastructure Operations & Maintenance
- Configure and manage routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and lifecycle refresh planning.
- Monitor performance using enterprise tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, NetFlow).
- Troubleshoot Layer 1-7 issues using packet capture and traffic analysis tools.
- Support 24x7 operations and incident response.
3. Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain network security controls aligned with:
- DoD RMF
- NIST SP 800-53
- STIG hardening requirements
- Configure ACLs, VLAN segmentation, VPN tunnels, IPSec, and TLS.
- Support firewall rule reviews and change control board (CCB) processes.
- Participate in vulnerability scanning remediation (ACAS/Nessus).
- Contribute to Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation packages.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain network topology diagrams and IP addressing schemas.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide performance metrics for contract reporting.
- Support audits and inspections.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
- Experience with Cisco routers/switches (C8200, C9300, C9500 series preferred).
- Strong understanding of:
- TCP/IP
- BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
- VLANs, NAT, DHCP, DNS
- IPSec, SSL VPN
- Experience with firewall technologies (Cisco FMC, ASA, ISE or equivalent).
- Experience supporting secure government environments.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
- CCNA Certification
- Active Secret clearance
