Description
SAIC is seeking a Communications Systems Engineer and Technical Advisor (SETA) to join our team. SAIC SETA provide specialized analysis, engineering, design, and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) customers and support development of next-generation national security systems based on land, at sea, in air, and in space.
This SETA supports an IC Research and Development (R&D) customer developing next generation hardware, software, and architectural solutions for the IC.

Responsibilities
- Conduct technical reviews and assessments of space communication technology development efforts to include:
- Studies and hardware/firmware/software development at the component, subsystem, system, and architecture level
- Electronics, antennas, waveform development, space data architectures, optical terminals, quantum computing, networking, and device security monitoring (experience in all areas is not required)
- Identify technology gaps, craft technology development and transition plans, and define requirements and specifications
- Conduct technical outreach with potential users of new communications technology
- Develop documents and briefings on program status and strategic planning
- Support programmatic, acquisition, and source selection processes
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience
Desired Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related discipline
Qualifications
- 14+ years of related work experience, with 4 years of space communications experience
- Experience with USG program management, acquisition lifecycle, processes, and documentation
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective verbal and writing skills
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering, physics, or related discipline
- 1 year of experience with USG R&D acquisition lifecycle, processes, and documentation
Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI Clearance with an active Polygraph.
