Join the Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector Eastern Region Engineering organization in a strategic role as the Business Unit (BU) Engineering Lead for Civil Space and Sciences (CSS).
As the Engineering Lead for the CSS BU, you will report directly to the Vice President of Engineering - Eastern Region, with dotted line reporting to the Launch and Exploration Division (LED) Vice President of the CSS BU. You will be responsible for providing engineering leadership for Civil Space and Sciences programs and pursuits. In this role, you will help transform the landscape of Civil Space and Sciences within our unrestricted customer areas. This position will be based in McLean, Virginia.

Primary Level Salary Range: $212,100.00 - $318,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Act as liaison between the Eastern Region Engineering functional homeroom and the LED CSS BU.
- Support CSS BU program, capture, proposal, IRAD, and commitment reviews.
- Engage with Chief Engineers, Cost Account Managers (CAMs), Engineering Program Managers (EPMs), and Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads supporting CSS BU on costs, risks, schedule, and technical progress.
- Understand and communicate CSS BU mission and staffing needs to Engineering directors and managers.
- Advise on strategic roadmaps for existing and proposed product lines with guidance on their applicability to various space domains, capabilities, and risk posture.
- Provide senior technical engagement on key program issues.

Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) or related technical field and a minimum of 16 years of applicable experience, or a Master's Degree and 14 years of applicable experience.
- Knowledge and experience with the Civil Space and Sciences domain
- Knowledge and experience with NASA customers
- Prior Northrop Grumman working experience
- The ability and willingness to travel up to 25% to key Northrop Grumman locations.
Preferred Experience:
- An active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI
- Master of Science in Engineering or other STEM discipline and/or MBA degree.
- INCOSE or other systems engineering certification or training.
- Experience with Earned Value and / or Cost Account Management.
- Proven experience working with diverse technical teams across multiple locations.
- Previous work experience as a Chief Engineer and/or lead Systems Engineer on a diverse range of program sizes, values and complexity
- Excellent verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills.
