Amentum is looking for a Facilities Watch Officer to join our #pecan team!

Essential Responsibilities:

The Facilities Watch Officer (FWO) is responsible for the centralized monitoring, coordination, and operational oversight of critical facility infrastructure, ensuring continuous functionality of mechanical, electrical, HVAC/R, and fire systems in mission-critical environments. The role requires proactive system monitoring, incident response, and collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure the safety, reliability, and uninterrupted operation of essential systems. Primary responsibilities include:

• Systems Monitoring & Control:
  • Monitor, control, and operate critical facility infrastructure systems, including Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R); fire protection systems; and critical electrical systems (e.g., UPS, generators, and power distribution units).
  • Utilize Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and other control systems to ensure continuous oversight over facility systems.
  • Track key performance metrics, trends, and alarms to detect and resolve anomalies before they escalate.
• Incident Management & Emergency Response:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for facility infrastructure alarms, abnormalities, or emergencies, ensuring rapid assessment and resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with facilities personnel, engineering teams, and external vendors to address critical system disruptions.
  • Escalate incidents and provide detailed briefings to management to ensure swift corrective action and appropriate operational continuity measures.
• Preventative Maintenance Coordination:
  • Monitor maintenance schedules and ensure proper execution of preventative maintenance to prevent unplanned outages.
  • Adjust system configurations to facilitate maintenance, ensuring adherence to operational and safety protocols.
  • Provide support to technicians and engineers during planned and unplanned maintenance events.
• Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate logs of facility operations, incidents, maintenance activities, and system changes.
  • Generate and prepare detailed shift handover reports, outage reports, and performance metrics for management review.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of system diagrams, schematics, and operational documentation.
• Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards for facilities operation.
  • Conduct safety reviews, participate in system audits, and adhere to lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures during system interventions.
• Team Collaboration & Communication:
  • Act as a central point of communication between management, technicians, and contracted service teams for operational readiness and issue resolution.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members during shifts and support decision-making for complex or urgent situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to:

• Moving mechanical parts, energized electrical equipment, pressurized systems, and rotating machinery.
• Environmental conditions such as extreme heat or cold, wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and occasional exposure to hazardous materials.
• High, precarious places, and the risk of electrical shock from energized systems.

The position requires:

• Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding in order to inspect and access facilities infrastructure.
• Lifting and carrying tools or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Use of hands to handle, operate, or repair tools and systems, as well as fine motor skills for precision work.
• Vision requirements including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception for effective systems monitoring and equipment inspections.
• Mental demands related to quick problem-solving, effective communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in emergency situations.

Noise levels in the work environment range from moderate to loud, requiring occasional use of hearing protection.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• (U) A minimum of ten (10) years of combined experience operating mechanical and electrical systems, with at least two (2) years of specialized experience monitoring and controlling major critical facility infrastructures, including HVAC/R systems, fire protection systems, and critical electrical infrastructure.
• Extensive knowledge of the operations and maintenance of HVAC/R, electrical, and fire protection systems within large-scale or mission-critical facilities.
• Familiarity with system monitoring platforms, including SCADA, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and similar tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, capable of assessing complex system failures and determining effective solutions.
• Thorough understanding of safety standards, including OSHA requirements, NFPA codes, and standard operating procedures for high-risk environments.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for mechanical and electrical systems.

Clearance Required:

• TS/SCI with Poly

Minimum Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Years of Experience:

• Ten (10) years of combined experience in mechanical and electrical system operation, including at least two (2) years in monitoring and controlling major critical infrastructure systems (e.g., HVAC/R systems, fire systems, and critical electrical infrastructure).

Required Certifications (If Needed):

• Certification in HVAC/R systems, electrical maintenance, or related fields.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification or equivalent for handling refrigerants.
• Additional certifications in SCADA or Building Automation Systems (BAS) operation are preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate Degree or Technical Certification in Facilities Management, Mechanical or Electrical Systems, or a related field.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or professional training program related to facilities operations.
• Experience working in mission-critical environments (e.g., data centers, government facilities, military bases).
• Additional certifications, such as LEED Accredited Professional (AP), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or Certified Facilities Manager (CFM).
• Familiarity with energy efficiency practices, load management, and renewable energy systems is a plus

Essential Responsibilities:

The Warehouse Person plays a key role in receiving, storing, issuing, and delivering materials and equipment to meet organizational and customer requirements. This position requires careful attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of orders, proper coordination of deliveries, and compliance with established regulations. The Warehouse Person works closely with customers, drivers, and logistics personnel, applying technical expertise in inventory management, material handling, and documentation. Primary responsibilities include:

• Receiving & Inspection:
  • Receive and examine incoming orders for accuracy, including verifying item description, quantity, and condition.
  • Create receiving reports and maintain accurate records, distributing copies to the warehouse and finance departments as needed.
  • Forward received items for processing to the Agency-Owned Accountable Property area, ensuring adherence to Agency regulations.
  • Resolve discrepancies identified during the receiving process in coordination with customers and vendors.
• Warehouse Operations:
  • Warehouse Systems Furniture materials and provide organization and recycling services for conventional furniture.
  • Process excess items in accordance with Agency policies, ensuring proper documentation and procedures.
  • Provide safe and secure storage for customer equipment and materials within designated areas.
• Material Delivery & Pickup:
  • Coordinate with customers to verify delivery instructions for over-sized equipment and materials.
  • Perform local deliveries and pickups in compliance with customer requirements, utilizing Agency-owned and leased vehicles and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
  • Ensure all deliveries and pickups meet safety standards and are completed in a timely manner.
• Database Management:
  • Use applicable computer database systems for inventory management, receiving, shipping, and other operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records of all transactions, shipments, storage locations, and surplus processing.
• General Warehouse Support:
  • Assist with logistics and facilities functions such as packing, shipping, storing, and inventory control.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.

The position requires:

• Standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing during the course of daily tasks.
• Operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and dollies in a safe manner.
• Strong visual acuity to inspect items for accuracy and damage and to use computer-based systems for tracking and management.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Four (4) years of relevant experience in packing, shipping, receiving, storing materials/equipment, equipment shipment coordination, and/or working in a logistics or facilities-related field (entry-level qualifications with an Associate's degree is two (2) years of experience).
• Knowledge of applicable computer databases used for inventory, shipping, and receiving functions.
• Working knowledge of safe material handling techniques and warehouse processes.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical functions for calculating quantities, weights, and shipment details.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently while ensuring documentation accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and colleagues regarding delivery instructions or discrepancies.

• TS/SCI with Poly

Minimum Education:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Facilities Management is preferred.

Minimum Years of Experience:

• Four (4) years of relevant experience with a high school diploma/GED, or two (2) years of experience with an Associate's degree.

Required Certifications (If Any):

• Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certification is preferred.
• Forklift certification is highly desired.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or dollies in a professional setting.
• Familiarity with Agency regulations and procedures for property accountability and storage.
• Working knowledge of recycling processes for conventional furniture and surplus processing.
• Advanced proficiency in warehouse management software or logistics management systems.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.

Compensation Details:
$50,000 to $100,000
