Overview/Responsibilities:
- AWS Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining our environment utilizing knowledge on Kubernetes (EKS), CI/CD, AWS related services, Container Orchestration and Gitlab.
- Build and test end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and components to support our organization and Mission Partners.
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating workloads in air-gapped/disconnected AWS environments
- Strong working knowledge of CI/CD pipeline development and GitLab CI component authoring
- Experience with Linux-based operating systems in enterprise environments
- Working knowledge of core AWS services (IAM, S3, KMS, Systems Manager)
- Develop, enable, and engineer new and approved services/features/enhancements for our DevSecOps Platform cloud environment utilizing native and third-party tool sets
- Understanding of AWS networking (VPCs, security groups, NACLs) and Kubernetes networking concepts
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation and tooling
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce clear runbooks, architecture diagrams, and onboarding guides
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently with minimal supervision
Required Qualifications:
- Hold or willing to attain DoD 8570 IAT Level II
- 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes, AWS EKS preferred
- 4+ years with container build and deployment processes utilizing CI/CD pipelines
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS
- 1+ years of experience with each of the below:
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) leveraging Terraform and Ansible
- Hands-on experience with GitLab Administration
- Ability to work in a hybrid schedule (3 on, 2 off)
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent
- Familiarity with Chainguard images or similar hardened/minimal base image strategies
- Experience with GitLab Environment Toolkit (GET) for GitLab deployments on Kubernetes
- Kubernetes troubleshooting depth (pod networking, DNS, RBAC, resource constraints)
- Experience working within an agile environment
