Vistra seeks an experienced : Future Operations Planner to support the USMC Forces Reserve supporting G35 Future Operations Division. Establish and administer Marine Corps strategic and operational programs, projects and actions supporting MARFFORRES Command.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily liaison between Headquarters Marine Corps Plans, Policies, and Operations (PP&O), MARFORRES Assistant Chief of Staff (AC/S) G-3/5, Deputy G-3/5, G-35Future Operations Officer, G-3/5 Section Heads, and MSCs, as required, to ensure the missions of MARFORRES units are accomplished in compliance with COMMARFORRES intent.
- Employ an in-depth knowledge of the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP), Joint Planning Process (JPP), and Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) development to conduct program management decision support actions for the Future Operations Division, including: development and tracking of applicable Plans of Action and Milestones(POA&M); analysis of relevant joint, service, and MARFORRES-level directives to extract tasks and analyze impacts to the future operations of MARFORRES.
- Support development of Marine Corps plans, processes, procedures, and policies in support of enterprise-level programs/initiatives. This includes familiarization with other Marine Corps, DoD and Service Component working groups/programs to ensure deconfliction/synchronization with MARFORRES strategic and operational planning and decision-making processes (i.e., Force Synchronization Conference, MROC, etc.).
- Employ an in-depth knowledge of Marine Corps Order 3061.1 (Total Force Mobilization and Deployment Plan) to develop Execution Orders (EXORDS), Planning Orders (PLANORDs), Operations Orders (OPORDs), and Letters of Instruction (LOIs) to execute operational planning and decision support for the execution of Global Force Management (GFM) tasks aligned with MARFORRES.
- Provide support to the G-35 Division Head through coordination of planning efforts by action officers to appropriately align MARFORRES capabilities with CONUS and OCONUS exercises.
- Provide planning support to the G-35 Division through attendance at operations, exercise, and theater security cooperation (TSC) planning conferences; prepare and present briefings on relevant future operations topics as required.
- Assist and advise the G-35 Division Head in matters pertaining to campaign development, deliberate and long-range operational planning, DoD policy, and service and joint-level future readiness requirements.
- Conduct reviews and propose updates to applicable orders, directives, and policies governing operations.
- Assist the Department in task management by utilizing the Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) and Automated Message Handling System (AMHS).
Requirements
- Secret Clearance
- 5 years of experience
- Bachelor Degree
- Successfully attended and graduated from one of the following: the United States Marine Corps School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW), the United States Army School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), the United States Navy Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS), or the United States Air Force School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS)
- Knowledge of the MARFORRES Assistant Chief of Staff (AC/S) G-3/5, Deputy G-3/5, G-35 Future Operations Officer, G-3/5 Section Heads, and MSC.
- Experience as a staff officer to support staffing and coordination of staff packages within the Command and other agencies.
