Position Summary
Teksouth is seeking a skilled Budget Analyst to support budget administration, formulation, and execution activities within a Combatant Command environment. This position supports operations and maintenance funding and plays a critical role in ensuring financial accountability, audit readiness, and compliance with DoD regulations.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented financial professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and has deep experience with DoD financial systems, policy interpretation, and execution oversight.
Responsibilities
• Maintain accountability of budget records by balancing all accounts using multiple financial systems
• Analyze funding documents and make recommendations to move funds within SAP for assigned fund centers
• Reviewing DTS authorizations/vouchers
• Work closely with directorates and provide recommendations on budget policy, interpretation, and formulation.
• Prepare and analyze the monthly status of funds reports.
• Tri-annual review of commitments, obligations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for any outstanding commitments and unliquidated obligations
• Recommend funds control program ceilings, target/fences, and other administrative controls and limitations for unique "Authorities available at the combatant command level.
• Keep accountability of the budget records using all financial systems in place; provide advice and guidance on the fiscal implications of expenditures.
• Identify, review, analyze, and evaluate potential or actual budget execution problems or trends requiring corrective action or measures.
• Prepare budget and accounting reports to support review and analysis, budget formulation, and execution activities.
• Advise and assist staff offices and program managers in the programming, budgeting, and execution of SOCSOUTH funds.
• Visit appropriate offices when requested. Act as a representative for the J8 at meetings and conferences on budget matters.
• Perform budget execution and formulation reviews and analysis functions of the assigned fiscal/budgetary area of responsibility. Interprets budget policy, management of resources, and forecasting program trends and activities.
• Apply advanced analysis techniques to budget data expressed in financial terms; Coordinate and control the estimates and funding of these programs; Consolidate estimates for incorporation in the overall Command budget estimate.
• Possess extensive knowledge of the budgetary policies, precedents, goals, objectives, regulations, and guidelines of DOD, JS, USSOCOM (SOF Unique), and USSOUTHCOM (Service Common). Combatant Command and SOF experience.
• Process MIPRs and fuel bills
• Knowledge of DoD audit compliance guidelines, such as Management Internal Control Program (MICP) and Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR).
• Work under the direction of the Budget Officer and Director within the J8, who outline broad objectives and policies to be followed. Independently carry out assignments on an extended basis making recommendations, commitments, and technical decisions as the work proceeds. Plan, schedule, and perform budgetary functions.

Qualifications
• Experience with GFEBS, DTS, DAI, GCCA-Army (G-Army), SAP, WAWF
• Secret Clearance Required
• Familiar with DoD accounting methods/terminology and appropriations

• An interest or experience in the Microsoft Power Platform
