What You'll Own

As a Level 5 Loads & Dynamics Engineer on the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for dynamic environments and structural integrity of flight hardware operating in extreme conditions.

You won't just run analyses - you'll shape design decisions, influence requirements, and guide hardware from concept through test and flight.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading structural dynamics analyses for spacecraft and interceptor flight hardware

• Developing and maintaining high-fidelity finite element and multibody dynamic models to simulate mechanical loads, shock, vibration, and separation events

• Performing loads development at system, subsystem, and component levels

• Driving Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA) efforts with launch vehicle and system partners

• Planning and executing static, vibration, acoustic, modal, shock, and separation dynamics testing

• Correlating analytical models to test data and resolving discrepancies

• Defining dynamic requirements and integrating them into the system baseline

• Presenting technical findings at Design Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, Test Readiness Reviews, and Engineering Review Boards

• Mentoring junior engineers and serving as a subject matter resource within the organization

This role offers significant technical ownership and visibility across engineering disciplines.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)

• Experience performing static and structural dynamics analysis for spacecraft, aircraft, missiles, or similarly complex systems

• Proficiency with tools such as ADAMS, NX Simulation, NASTRAN, LS-Dyna, Wave6, or equivalent

• Experience using MATLAB (or similar) for analysis automation and data reduction

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, thus US citizenship is required.
Desired Skills:
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Mechanics, or related discipline

• 9+ years of structural dynamics experience in aerospace or defense applications

• Deep understanding of structural dynamics, strength of materials, and missile/spacecraft structural behavior

• Experience with Craig-Bampton substructuring, component mode synthesis, and modern substructure modeling techniques

• Strong background in finite element modeling, modal analysis, and model correlation

• Experience with composite and metallic structural analysis

• Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA) experience with spacecraft or launch vehicles

• Demonstrated leadership in test planning and execution for aerospace flight hardware

• Proven ability to work across systems, stress, design, aerodynamics, and test teams in an integrated environment

• A proactive mindset - you take ownership and drive complex technical challenges to closure
