Description:
SPAARK 2.0 is seeking a Data Analyst to assist the DHA out of Falls Church, VA. The Data Analyst supports enterprise data warehousing, metadata quality, and standardized data element definitions across DHA’s data ecosystem. The Data Analyst ensures accuracy, traceability, and consistency of data elements across multiple systems and domains.
Responsibilities:
-Support the baseline data inventory by through in person or remote session to collect metadata—including system details, lineage, access controls, and business definitions
-Support analysis of enterprise data warehouse structures, mapping data fields, validating data lineage, and reviewing transformation logic via virtual collaboration tools
-Develop and maintain standardized data element definitions, including metadata fields, classifications, reference values, and usage context aligned with DHA, DOW, and NIST standards
-Maintain and update the enterprise data dictionary and definition catalogs
Conduct metadata quality checks (completeness, accuracy, alignment) and work with stakeholders to resolve gaps
-Assist in preparing metadata, definitions, and documentation for onboarding into the interim centralized repository, ensuring consistency with folder standards, taxonomies, and metadata fields
-Contribute to governance artifacts, including RACI matrices, workflows, and metadata framework deliverables
-Produce documentation including inventory outputs, definition libraries, reports, decision logs, and briefings for DHA stakeholders
-Ensure all deliverables are version controlled, auditable, and delivered through DHA approved remote tools
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
-8+ years of experience in data analysis, metadata management, data warehouse or analytics
-Experience working with enterprise data warehouses, relational structures, and standardized data definitions.
-Strong understanding of metadata standards, data dictionaries, and governance frameworks.
-Experience communicating and coordinating with Government stakeholders in in person and remote environments and excellent communication skills suited for distributed stakeholders.
-Experience with Jira and other DHA approved project tools.
-U.S. Citizenship required; eligibility for security clearance; active DoD security clearance preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Strong analytical thinking and detail orientation when assessing data definitions, metadata, and warehouse structures.
-Ability to manage multiple priorities across objectives.
-Experience with metadata crosswalks, validation processes, or catalog federation activities.
Preferred Certifications:
-Data analytics or governance certifications (CDMP, PL 300/DA 100, etc.).
-Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
-Agile certifications (Scrum, SAFe, Agile PM).
