Department Summary:
The MITRE Intelligence Center is seeking a Division Director for its Global Intelligence Division (N970) focused on our Cryptologic and GEOINT and Space sponsors. The N970 Division Director, reports to MITRE's VP, Intelligence Center and serve as a member of the Intelligence Center senior leadership team and can be based out of MITRE's Fort Meade site or McLean campus.
The N970 Division Director, is accountable for the leadership of the Division and the planning and implementation of MITRE's work program in support of the National Security Agency (NSA), the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and MITRE's National Space Program (NSP). The N970 Division Director is responsible for the development and execution of the Division strategy, the NSA, NGA and NSP sponsor relationship and the delivery and execution of the NSA, NGA and NSP program, to include project leadership and technical quality. The N970 Division Director will also partner with resource organizations to staff projects, drive internal R&D and apply MITRE's integrated capabilities to the sponsor mission sets.
The N970 Division Director will lead MITRE's work programs in support of the missions and organizations of NSA, NGA and MITRE's NSP sponsor. These include cyber security; collection, exploitation and analysis of signals intelligence; multi-domain operations; modeling and simulation; computer and analytic sciences; reverse engineering; automation; artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing an organization, a record of engagement at senior levels of the government, and the ability to operate and interact effectively in a large, complex, matrixed, and dynamic organizational context. S/he will have demonstrated outstanding and timely results in leading programs that have significant enterprise-wide impact, while building trusted relationships and exemplifying professionalism and MITRE's values: commitment to the public interest mission, technical excellence that counts, people in partnership, and integrity above all else. As a technical thought leader, the N970 Division Director is expected to apply his/her areas of expertise and contribute to sponsor projects and corporate strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities include:
- Leadership and Management
- Leading all aspects of the Global Intelligence Division P&L portfolio, to include demonstrating operational excellence in the execution of the existing work program.
- Serving as a partner to the sponsors through thought leadership in critical mission areas.
- Managing a large division with multiple sponsor and customer organizations.
- Staff development and succession planning for future business/program leaders.
- Strategic Planning
- Identifying and anticipating major sponsor and environmental trends, opportunities, and issues; continually shaping the strategy and plan accordingly to achieve mission impact, critical outcomes, and enabling mission impact through our work program.
- Leading executive-level engagements with sponsors and stakeholders to build trusted relationships across the Global Intelligence Division's Intelligence Community sponsors.
- Shaping work to deliver mission impact and achieve sponsor mission and outcomes, including follow-on and new work for existing sponsors, and opportunities with new sponsors including U.S. organizations and international allies.
- Informing and shaping MITRE research and innovation investments to enable future sponsor capabilities (in partnership with MITRE research organizations and the Division Chief Engineer)
- Creating and implementing strategy for commercial capability acceleration and integration into future architectures and capabilities.
- Integration
- Collaborating and partnering with senior MITRE leadership in other Divisions and resource organizations to plan and align growth strategies in delivering sponsor solutions.
- Building relationships, networks, and potentially new organizational constructs across MITRE driving cross-sponsor approaches to increase the value of the FFRDC Platform.
- Developing and deploying cross-agency solutions to solve national security challenges.
- Advancing support to DoW missions (in partnership with Mission and other Divisions), including enabling and leveraging cross-cutting capabilities and priorities, tactical intelligence, Golden Dome / IAMD, and integrated space warfighting.
- Engage MATRIX leaders to bring new technology to sponsor mission applications, partner in strategy and work program development, and connect to sponsors and their needs to shape MATRIX strategies and roadmaps.
- Technical Oversight
- Leading, planning, and executing the work program to ensure mission impact and technical quality while bringing forward consistency, innovation, and best practices.
- Overseeing technical and strategic quality of Division project plans, capabilities, and deliverables.
- Business and Financial Acumen
- Estimating, informing, and meeting targets for revenue and delivery to MITRE sponsor.
- Setting and managing overhead and indirect budgets for Division operations.
- Managing new business acquisition expenditures including IR&D, market analysis, and bid & proposal (B&P).
Basic Qualifications:
- BS and 15 years of related experience
- Deep working knowledge of the National Security Agency (NSA), National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and National Space Programs.
- Broad knowledge and familiarity with the US intelligence and national security community
- Leadership experience with national space programs, DoW space missions and capabilities, and space operations, logistics and sustainment.
- Experience managing P&L for a portfolio of projects or programs, including meeting cost, schedule, performance, and quality for sponsor work.
- Experience executing large complex endeavors from strategic, operational, and financial perspectives
- Successful record of engagement, relationship-building, and collaboration with senior leaders in government and industry, in a complex national security environment.
- Significant exposure to and experience solving mission-oriented challenges of government sponsors
- Demonstrated ability to shape, develop and capture high-technology business pipelines for diverse national security sponsors, and demonstrated ability to manage technology research, development, and transition activities through the program life cycle
- Demonstrated leadership or partnership with space and intelligence industry providers
- Proven leadership skills managing and motivating employees, recruiting and building a top-performing, high-impact organization, growing and developing technical and leadership talent, and creating an inclusive environment
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of sponsors and internal staff
- Demonstrated ability to work across organizations and integrate efforts to achieve more impactful outcomes
- Active TS/SCI Clearance with CI polygraph
- Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance
- This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on site
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in the national security, engineering, computer science, physical sciences, mathematics, or comparable or related fields
- Demonstrated leadership of programs that provide innovative solutions leading to game-changing capabilities
- Active NSA TS/SCI Clearance with FS polygraph
