Overview
FTI is seeking a Security Specialist to support the Administration Department of Surface Warfare Engineering School Command (SWESC) in Great Lakes, IL.
This position provides technical and administrative support in managing elements of the command security program, including Information Security (INFOSEC), Operations Security (OPSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), and the Navy Insider Threat Program (InTP).
The Security Specialist supports and reports to the designated Government Security Manager and functions in a support capacity in execution of command security requirements.

Responsibilities
Security Program Support
- Apply security concepts, principles, and practices to evaluate, analyze, and resolve security-related issues.
- Assist in planning, organizing, operating, and evaluating elements of the command security program.
- Support implementation and compliance with Department of Defense and Department of the Navy security policies, directives, and regulations.
- Utilize and maintain working knowledge of the Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
- Assist in execution of the Navy Insider Threat Program requirements.
- Support OPSEC and INFOSEC program documentation and compliance activities.
Personnel Security & Administrative Support
- Apply personnel security procedures and regulatory guidance to support clearance and investigation processing.
- Assist in conducting facility security compliance reviews; document deficiencies and provide recommendations to Government leadership.
- Support documentation, tracking, and reporting requirements related to the command security posture.
- Coordinate with external agencies, including DON CAF and OPM, under Government direction.
Additional Duties
- Perform additional tasks as directed by Government leadership within the scope of the contract.
Required Qualifications
- Must be located within a commutable distance to report full-time onsite in Great Lakes, IL.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance (minimum) with ability to maintain.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in DoD Security Administration.
- Working knowledge of DoD and Department of the Navy security regulations and policies.
- Familiarity with DISS or similar personnel security systems.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple administrative requirements.
- Occasional travel may be required (up to 25%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification and/or Facility Security Officer (FSO) Certification.
- Experience supporting INFOSEC, OPSEC, PERSEC, and Insider Threat programs in a DoD environment.
