Duties
Help
  • Develop and administer in-service law enforcement training and development activities Prepare and present training courses in a variety of law enforcement subjects in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 350-1 and Field Manual (FM) 7-0.
  • Utilize military and civilian police training sources to build course lessons and training materials.
  • Present training and coordinate for other instructors and subject matters experts to provide necessary training.
  • Perform full range of police operations duties as a Department of the Army Police Officer.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
  • Position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain any installation and/or DoD license required for the type of vehicle being driven.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • In accordance with Army Regulation 190-56 incumbent must meet all requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
  • In accordance with Army Regulation 190-56 incumbent must take and pass an initial Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire, and annually thereafter.
  • Incumbent is required to pass all training, certification and qualifications requirements of the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
  • In accordance with Army Regulation 190-56 incumbent must successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring medical / psychiatric evaluation.
  • In accordance with Army Regulation 190-56 must be able to qualify initially and at a minimum, semi-annually re-certify with assigned weapon(s) and handling of assigned weapon(s) to include less than lethal weapons.
  • Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations or statutes.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Providing on-the-job training for law enforcement duties; (2) Ensuring proper response to calls for law enforcement services AND (3) Coordinating emergency responses between law enforcement such as: security, fire, and other emergency units. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
