[Senior Consultant, Engineering & Technical Services] (Technical Lead )

Position Summary: In this role, you will serve as the technical lead for the delivery team, responsible for defining the technical approach, guiding architectural decisions, and ensuring the successful implementation of a secure, scalable, cloud-based filing system. In this role, you will apply deep expertise in backend engineering, cloud architecture, and DevSecOps practices to lead the design and development of complex, event-driven systems. You will work closely with the Program Manager, Scrum Master, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure solutions are technically sound, compliant with federal security requirements, and aligned with program objectives.

What You'll do

Responsibilities:
  • Provide overall technical leadership and direction for the delivery team, ensuring alignment with the approved technical approach and architectural standards.
  • Design and oversee cloud-native architectures using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, S3, and DynamoDB.
  • Lead backend development efforts using Python, establishing patterns and best practices for maintainable, high-quality code.
  • Define and govern API design standards using RESTful principles and OpenAPI specifications.
  • Guide the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated testing, security scanning, and reliable deployments.
  • Lead and mentor a team of five or more engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and architectural oversight.
  • Ensure system designs and implementations adhere to federal security requirements, including NIST 800-53 controls and Zero Trust principles.
  • Make architectural decisions that balance scalability, performance, security, and long-term maintainability.
  • Collaborate with security, DevSecOps, and data teams to ensure secure integration across system components.
  • Contribute to system architecture documentation, architectural decision records, and technical roadmaps.
  • Support technical discussions with stakeholders and clearly communicate technical decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Lead architectural decision-making for the platform, balancing scalability, security, performance, and long-term maintainability in a regulated federal environment


Work Experience
Qualifications Required:
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience designing and implementing AWS cloud architectures using Lambda, Step Functions, S3, and DynamoDB.
  • Advanced experience with Python backend development in production environments.
  • Proven experience designing RESTful APIs and defining interface contracts using OpenAPI.
  • Experience designing and overseeing CI/CD pipelines for modern software delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership to teams of five or more engineers.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineers in agile delivery environments, including mentoring, coordination, and technical decision-making across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of federal security requirements, including NIST 800-53 controls and Zero Trust architecture concepts.
  • Experience designing and leading distributed, highly available systems that meet strict performance, resiliency, and recovery requirements.
  • Experience leading production incident response and root cause analysis, including coordination across engineering, operations, and security teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate security and compliance requirements into system architecture and technical implementation.
  • Experience making, documenting, and defending architectural decisions in regulated or mission-critical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineers in agile delivery environments, including mentoring, coordination, and technical decision-making across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Previous experience working on EDGAR or other SEC systems.
  • Experience leading or contributing to legacy system modernization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Oracle databases and GoldenGate replication or integration patterns.
  • Experience processing XBRL and XML-based data in regulated or data-intensive systems.
  • Understanding of data governance, cloud cost optimization, and backup/recovery best practices

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or during meetings.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally to client sites or company meetings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person, requiring clear speech, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to move within an office environment, including reaching for files, using office equipment, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds).

The salary range for this position is:

Minimum Salary: $114,844

Salary Midpoint: $149,299

Maximum Salary: $183,752

Hiring Range for Role: $114,844-$149,000

*This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance criteria.
