Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-4 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
*Experience applying law enforcement procedures, regulations, and operations to perform routine and recurring kinds of fixed post assignments
*Experience preparing police reports concerning incidents and actions taken
*Experience responding to emergency calls for service while adhering to state and federal laws
*Experience patrolling areas to detect, deter, and defend against threats

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:
In lieu of specialized experience, applicants may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in Police Science or a comparable degree program related to the work of the position.

Must successfully complete a DoD approved Police Training Academy or equivalent course, e.g. Navy Police Officer Academy; a federal or military police academy; or equivalent law enforcement training. Must also successfully complete any annual sustainment training, Level 1
Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) contamination training (if applicable), and OC refresher training.
If selected below the full performance level, you may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

- You will respond to and investigate complaints while interpreting and enforcing state and federal laws, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), DoD and Navy regulations, and installation directives.
- You will respond immediately, assesses and report situation, and conduct mitigating actions and preliminary investigations.
- You will perform traffic law enforcement using specialized equipment such as radar, breathalyzer, and must be qualified/certified in these specialized areas and on the necessary equipment.
- You will set up and conduct checkpoints/roadblocks at various locations throughout the installation in support of Random Anti-terrorism Measures (RAMS) and to reduce criminal activity and ensure motor vehicle safety.
- You will use computer equipment and specialized web-based law enforcement programs to fuse intelligence and establish, update, query or print individual or vehicle registration and other law enforcement sensitive information.
- You will detect and investigate unusual situations/conditions; take required action to resolve various incidents/situations and request additional support, if necessary.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Employee is required to wear an assigned uniform and display official designated items or accessories to include additional required equipment. The employee must follow and adhere to applicable grooming standards for the installation.
- You will be required to be CPR certified and utilize a portable heart defibrillator where available.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to pass a physical agility test (PAT) prior to onboarding date and annually.
- You will be required to meet OPM hearing and vision requirement to include distinguishing basic shades of color.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
