Systems Engineer - Project Support

We're looking for a high performing Systems Engineer to contribute to the operations and management of a largescale cloud computing platform. This is a technical role that blends coordination, customer engagement, and engineering support, requiring someone who is organized, communicative, and comfortable working across teams. The location of this job is Herndon, VA.

Responsibilities:

• • Governance & Partner Coordination: Support execution of governance processes and procedures, coordinate with external partners on system integrations and connections, and assist with core project management activities such as tracking deliverables, risks, and cross team dependencies.
• Customer Outreach & Technical Support: Assist with customer communications, gather requirements, triage technical issues, and coordinate with engineering teams to drive resolutions.
• Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain clear documentation for system workflows, operational procedures, and release notes.
• Software Testing: Support functional testing, validate new features, and report defects with clear reproduction steps.
• Meeting Support: Capture detailed meeting notes, track decisions and action items, and maintain team alignment.
• Support System Accreditation Activities: Assist with security configuration, system scanning, auditing, and preparing required documentation to meet accreditation and compliance standards.

Requirements:

• BS in System Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience working on software applications, cloud systems, or similar technical programs
• Demonstrated experience working with senior engineering teams
• Experience with Agile/Scrum practices
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and distributed systems
• Databases, SQL querying and data analysis
• Dashboarding/metrics tools (e.g., Grafana, Kibana, CloudWatch)
• Ability to collaborate across technical and nontechnical teams
• US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Experience:

• Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar)
• Linux system administration fundamentals
• AWS services and cloud architecture familiarity
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, or automated testing frameworks
• Exposure to data science workflows, statistical analysis, or ML/AI concepts
