Pay Range: $180,000 - $240,000 per year
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a senior commercial director to lead the expansion of the Ship2Shore (S2S) corrosion control product line into the broader industrial and marine corrosion prevention market.
- Reporting to the Corrosion Control Operations Manager and directly supervising the Business Development Manager, this role carries full operational and financial accountability for scaling S2S into a recognized and competitive corrosion control solution with measurable market penetration.
- The S2S Commercial Director will be responsible for driving adoption within corrosion-sensitive industries, capturing market share from incumbent coatings and inhibitor providers, and establishing S2S as a differentiated and performance-driven solution in the corrosion control sector.
- The ideal candidate:
- Understands the economics of coatings/corrosion failure and lifecycle asset preservation
- Has successfully penetrated technically conservative industrial markets

- Builds long-term recurring adoption within corrosion maintenance programs
Job Description:
This role is specifically charged with:
- Driving market penetration and sales into the industrial, marine, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and municipal corrosion control markets
- Displacing incumbent corrosion inhibitor and protective coating solutions
- Building technical credibility within corrosion engineering and maintenance communities
- Establishing S2S as a viable, performance-driven alternative within corrosion prevention programs
- Develop and execute a market penetration strategy specific to corrosion control industries
- Identify verticals where corrosion risk mitigation represents high economic impact
- Align product messaging with corrosion engineering standards and lifecycle cost reduction
- Establish partnerships with maintenance contractors, corrosion consultants, and industrial asset owners
- Lead strategy to replace incumbent corrosion protection products within key accounts
- Support field trials, pilot implementations, and performance validation
- Build case studies and technical documentation supporting corrosion prevention efficacy
- Engage directly with asset owners, facility managers, and engineering decision-makers
- Supervise, and hold accountable the Business Development Manager and the key account managers
- Approve sales strategies and pipeline prioritization specific to corrosion sectors
- Participate in high-value corrosion program negotiations and opportunities
- Implement structured performance tracking related to market penetration
- Establish distribution networks aligned with corrosion control contractors and industrial suppliers
- Evaluate channel partners based on technical capability and access to corrosion-sensitive industries
- Expand presence within corrosion industry associations, tradeshows, and government venues
Qualifications:
- Must have A Bachelors Degree and at least 15 years of senior commercial leadership within the coatings corrosion control, coatings, or industrial chemical markets. In Lieu of a degree additional years of experience will suffice.
- Must have deep knowledge of corrosion mitigation methods, asset preservation markets, and industrial maintenance sectors.
- Must have demonstrated success penetrating technically driven markets with performance-based products.
- Must have experience displacing incumbent solutions within industrial or government corrosion environments.
- Must have proven leadership of commercial teams with direct P&L accountability.
- Must have strong executive presence and credibility with engineering, operations, and procurement stakeholders
Travel Requirements:
- Travel up to 50%.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
