RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Contractor Special Program Security Officer, you will:
- Provide security management support to the Cybersecurity Program Office, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity policies, directives, and agency guidance (e.g., NIST RMF, FISMA, ICDs, NISPOM as applicable).
- Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity-focused security policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Oversee personnel security activities supporting cybersecurity programs, including clearance verification, onboarding, indoctrinations, debriefings, and access management.
- Ensure secure handling, storage, transmission, and destruction of classified, sensitive, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) related to cybersecurity operations.
- Support secure facility compliance, accreditation documentation, and access control requirements for cybersecurity program spaces.
- Coordinate and prepare for inspections, security assessments, and audits; develop and track corrective action plans.
- Advise cybersecurity leadership on security risk management, threat mitigation strategies, and compliance posture.
- Maintain security documentation, compliance artifacts, and reporting metrics in support of ATO packages, continuous monitoring, and oversight activities.
- Deliver security education and awareness briefings tailored to cybersecurity personnel and stakeholders.
- Serve as liaison between government security offices, cybersecurity leadership, contracting officials, and external oversight entities.
Requirements
- A minimum 8 years of experience in federal security, industrial security, or cybersecurity program security management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal cybersecurity and security governance frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, NIST RMF, FISMA, ICD guidance).
- Experience supporting system authorization (ATO) processes, continuous monitoring, and compliance documentation.
- Strong ability to coordinate across cybersecurity, IT, and security stakeholders.
- An ACTIVE minimum Public Trust clearance is required to be considered for this position.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Security Management, or other technical field (OR) in lieu of a degree, an additional four years of experience may be substituted.
