A Day in the Life:
We’re seeking a Research & Development Test Technician who is eager to work alongside engineers in developing and testing new aerospace products, processes, and technologies. In this role, you’ll play a hands-on part in solving complex challenges and turning bold ideas into reality. You’ll support testing and validation activities, contribute to the integration of systems, and work across disciplines to deliver spacecraft and payload systems that perform with innovation, precision, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain detailed logs and formal/informal test reports
• Interpret GD&T standards and instrumentation data sheets
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and other aerospace-grade material standards
• Material characterization including fabrication and test of shear, tensile and peel coupons for polymers (50%), composites (20%) and metals (10%)
• Development testing: Thermal, Mechanical Shock, Vibration, Vacuum, Optical
• Acceptancy & Qualification testing including vacuum chamber deployment
• In process testing: Durometer, Shear, Tensile, Geometric Alignment, Void determination
• Fabrication of Test Support Equipment (TSE)
• Technical writing of test results in both formal and informal reports
• Post-processing of test data in MS Excel, Lab View, or equivalent software
Who You Are:
• You have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Aerospace Development, Acceptance and Qualification Testing of spacecraft hardware (2-5 years)
• LabView preferred
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools
• Must have competency in the interpretation of technical requirements such as geometric dimensioning & tolerance (GD&T) standards, and instrumentation technical data sheets
• Must work well with Engineering personnel to update drawings, plans and procedures that govern the testing process.
• The ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
• Top Secret Security Clearance a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
