Duties
Help
  • You will operate a multi-channel base station, enhanced 9-1-1 system, multi-line phone system, radio paging system, station alert system, radio alarm system and computer aided dispatch, etc.
  • You will provide emergency police, fire and medical services by answering incoming emergency telephone calls.
  • You will initiate station coverage and mutual-aid requests to and from local police, fire and medical agencies.
  • You will test and maintain 9-1-1 system, radio fire/security/intrusion alarm systems, and radio and telephone recording systems.
  • You must be able to conduct trouble shooting of equipment that will aid in locating the trouble source and/or power disruption.
  • You will prepare written and computerized reports and records; retrieve data from computers and alarm systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-06grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector dispatching emergency vehicles including police, fire, and medical services personnel utilizing emergency communication equipment and assessing incoming calls to determine appropriate course of action including researching emergency response to hazardous materials.

  • GA Hazmat Response Certification
  • GCIC/NCIC user certification and confidentiality agreement
  • Telecommunicator Levels 1 and 2
