Nightwing is seeking a highly capable and mission driven Field Service Professional with a primary base at our Springfield location, but with extensive domestic and international travel required. We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile specialist to deliver hands-on instruction and technical training across multiple construction and facilities trades. This role supports training both domestically and internationally and requires a long-term commitment to program continuity and quality delivery.

The Field Service Professional is responsible for building practical skills and self-sufficiency by teaching real-world masonry, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC trades. The successful applicant is a seasoned trades professional with instructional ability, strong adaptability, the desire to learn new things, and the willingness to support overseas assignments. This position requires maturity, professionalism, and a strong sense of mission. This role also includes developing and improving training curriculum, staying current on emerging trade equipment and techniques, and maintaining the training facility, tools, and materials needed for successful instruction.

Travel Requirements
  • International Travel: Up to 4 months per year
  • Domestic Travel: Up to 3 months per year
  • Travel may occur in extended or consecutive deployments depending on program needs
  • Candidate must be willing and able to travel to remote environments


Commitment Requirements
  • Candidate must be willing to support this role through FY2031 (Minimum 5-year commitment)
  • Continuity is critical for mission success and team building


Required Skills
  • Candidate must possess a TS/SCI with a Full Scope Poly on day one of employment and must be eligible for crossover
  • Minimum sixteen (16) years of relevant experience in construction, or skilled trades industry
  • Ability to read and understand conceptual drawings or blueprints
  • Working knowledge and hands-on proficiency in at least one of the following trades with the desire to learn the others:
    • Masonry
    • Plumbing
    • Electrical
    • Carpentry
    • HVAC
  • Ability to troubleshoot and explain technical concepts
  • Ability to teach and demonstrate trade skills in hands-on environment
  • Ability to develop/adapt curriculum and practical exercises
  • Competency in evaluating trainee performance and providing constructive feedback
  • Ability to train individuals with varying degrees of skill level and background
  • Ability to safely operate and demonstrate use of trade tools and equipment
  • Understanding of construction safety standards and best practices
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work in restricted mobility areas and confines spaces
  • Compliance with Nightwing's Silica Monitoring Program
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook)


Desired Skills
  • Journeyman license or equivalent certification in a skilled trade (e.g. plumbing, electrical, HVAC)
  • Medium and/or heavy equipment experience
