T-Rex Solutions is seeking a qualified Data Management Specialist to lead data lineage documentation approach, ensuring lineage completeness, traceability, metadata alignment, and compliance with DHA, DOW, and NIST requirements for a large DOD customer. This role collaborates with Government stakeholders, data owners, architects, analysts, and cross functional teams across all SOW objectives to ensure governance maturity and consistency in metadata and lineage practices.

In compliance with pay transparency guidelines, the annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. T-Rex considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Responsibilities:
- Support the baseline data inventory by through in-person or remote session to collect metadata-including system details, lineage, access controls, and business definitions.
- Design, develop, and implement a robust data lineage documentation approach that ensures end-to-end transparency and traceability of data assets.
- Establish and enforce standards, processes, and tools for capturing, monitoring, and updating data lineage information, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure metadata quality and alignment with enterprise data architecture, data governance frameworks, DHA, DOW, and NIST standards and policies.
- Collaborate with Government customers, data stewards, architects, analysts, and other cross-functional teams to gather lineage requirements and define process improvements.
- Maintain traceability of data flows and transformations, supporting regulatory, audit, and risk management objectives.
- Develop and deliver training, communication materials, and workshops to promote best practices in data lineage and metadata management across the program.
- Support the development and ongoing maintenance of data dictionaries, data catalogs, and automated lineage tracking tools.
- Monitor data lineage and metadata documentation for compliance with SOW requirements, identifying gaps and recommending remediation steps.
- Prepare status reports, presentations, and compliance documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in data governance processes to support overall governance maturity and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure all deliverables are version controlled, auditable, and delivered through DHA approved remote tools.
- 5+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or a closely related function, with specialization in data lineage and metadata management.
- Knowledge of DHA, DoD, DOW, and NIST data governance requirements, standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Proven ability to implement data lineage and metadata documentation approaches within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with Government stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with data management and lineage tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Microsoft Purview, or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and data quality principles.
- Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills.
- Experience with Jira and other DHA approved project tools.
- U.S. Citizenship required; eligibility for security clearance; active DoD security clearance preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems , Business Administration, Data Management, or related field.
- Familiarity with federal healthcare and military health data environments.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to the DHA and DOW.
- Data analytics or governance certifications (CDMP, PL300/DA100, etc.).
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) beneficial but not required.
- Agile certifications (Scrum, SAFe, Agile PM).
