In compliance with pay transparency guidelines, the annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. T-Rex considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-person and virtual sessions across various areas of the DHA to create the baseline data inventory by through in-person or remote session to collect metadata-including system details, lineage, access controls, and business definitions.
- Use structured data-gathering sessions to document key metadata, including system descriptions, data element definitions, sources, formats, data flows, and sensitivities for all systems.
- Assess inventories and identify data gaps or inconsistencies; develop strategies to resolve deficiencies and validate findings with stakeholders.
- Produce standardized inventory documentation, user guides, and process maps to ensure clarity, reproducibility, and ease of maintenance.
- Collaborate with data domain owners, stewards, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather metadata information.
- Conduct metadata quality checks (completeness, accuracy, alignment) and work with stakeholders to resolve gaps.
- Assist in preparing metadata, definitions, and documentation for onboarding into the interim centralized repository, ensuring consistency with folder standards, taxonomies, and metadata fields.
- Contribute to governance artifacts, including RACI matrices, workflows, and metadata framework deliverables.
- Ensure all deliverables are version controlled, auditable, and delivered through DHA approved remote tools.
- Support execution across objectives, i.e.,
- Data inventory planning, stakeholder engagement, and validation cycles.
- Repository setup, metadata fields, access control alignment.
- AoA evaluations, workshop coordination, assessment documentation.
- Documentation management, migration planning, and metadata readiness.
- Metadata modeling, governance RACI, lineage mapping coordination.
- Federation, synchronization, catalog alignment activities.
- Self-service evaluation, testing, and user feedback loops.
- Governance pilots, data product lifecycle coordination.
- 5+ years' experience performing business or data analysis functions within complex, multi-system environments.
- Proficient in requirements gathering, stakeholder interviews, and facilitating cross-functional meetings.
- Proven experience in cataloging data or business process inventories, especially within government or regulated environments.
- Demonstrated ability to produce detailed process documentation and inventory deliverables.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with data inventory/catalog tools, metadata management, and database concepts.
- Experience communicating and coordinating with Government stakeholders in in-person and remote environments and excellent communication skills suited for distributed stakeholders.
- Experience with Jira and other DHA approved project tools.
- U.S. Citizenship required; eligibility for security clearance; active DoD security clearance preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems , Business Administration, Data Management, or related field.
- Experience working within federal government settings or supporting federal data initiatives.
- Familiarity with NIST, OMB, or agency-specific data policy frameworks.
- Knowledge of privacy impact assessments, information security categorization, and data lifecycle management.
- Advanced proficiency with data catalog platforms (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica).
- Data analytics or governance certifications (CDMP, PL300/DA100, etc.).
