Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician with hands-on Niagara (Tridium) experience to support, troubleshoot, and maintain building mechanical systems and building automation infrastructure. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in HVAC operations, controls integration, and BAS networked environments.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment, including air handlers, VAVs, heat pumps, chillers, boilers, exhaust systems, and related mechanical components.
  • Troubleshoot system performance issues using Niagara-based Building Automation Systems (Niagara AX/N4).
  • Monitor, adjust, and optimize BAS schedules, setpoints, alarms, and equipment sequences.
  • Perform field-level diagnostics on sensors, actuators, controllers, VFDs, and communication wiring.
  • Assist with BAS integrations, point-to-point testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings to support repair and upgrade actions.
  • Work with engineering and controls teams to implement system improvements and energy-efficiency strategies.
  • Document maintenance actions, system adjustments, and control changes in CMMS/BAS logs.
  • Maintain compliance with safety policies, building codes, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with facility managers, contractors, and project teams to support maintenance or installation projects.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience, including at least 5 years working in a job shop environment with hands-on electrical and controls experience.
  • At least 5 years of HVAC maintenance, service, or controls experience.
  • Working knowledge of Niagara AX or Niagara N4, including system navigation, basic programming adjustments, alarm management, and trend analysis.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC control theory, including PID loops and sequence of operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
  • Experience with low-voltage control systems; familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks preferred.
  • EPA Universal Certification required or ability to obtain.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in critical environments.

Preferred Skills
  • Niagara N4 certification (Niagara Technical Certification or similar).
  • Experience with enterprise BAS systems, dashboards, and graphics updates.
  • Familiarity with mechanical plant operations (chillers, boilers, pumps).
  • Experience in government, data centers, healthcare, or mission-critical facilities.

Abilities:
  • The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
  • Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

Pay Range
