Are you an independent self-starter who thrives in a collaborative research and development (R&D) environment, working alongside an energetic, multi-domain team of hardworking scientists and engineers?

Do you seek to explore exciting emerging technologies and develop them into groundbreaking and impactful applications?

If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL!

We are seeking a forward-thinking innovative architect to help us, design, develop, build, and deploy impactful new capabilities for the vital mission of the classified work of the Air and Missile Defense Sector (AMDS). As a member of our team, you will join a group inventing new ways of accomplishing our goals and rapidly building new abilities for our enterprise. We are committed to innovation, and we strive to foster an environment of open exploration and scalable development for delivery.

An IT Solutions Architect in our group is an instrumental technical leader who advances research within a defined specialty with a willingness to work closely with peers, program managers, and leadership. People in this role help define and refine research directions, engage directly with sponsors, and make substantive contributions to proposal strategy, development, and execution. They are expected to apply seasoned technical judgment to ambiguous or novel challenges and develop ideas into executable, mission aligned, and sponsor funded efforts.
