Critical Facility Technician

We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to support the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical power systems and protective relaying equipment in utility, industrial, and data center environments. This role is field-based and works under senior and lead technicians on complex projects.
Responsibilities
Assist with installation, testing, and maintenance of protective relays, metering systems, circuit breakers, transformers, and switchgear.
Perform basic acceptance and maintenance testing in accordance with NETA and company standards.
Conduct primary and secondary injection testing under supervision.
Support troubleshooting of electrical faults and system failures.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams.
Safely operate electrical test equipment (Megger, Doble, Omicron, Vanguard, Fluke, etc.).
Assist with commissioning of new electrical equipment.
Follow all electrical safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, and arc flash requirements.
Maintain accurate test reports and documentation.
Travel to customer sites and participate in outage windows and emergency call-outs as needed.
Required Qualifications
1–3+ years of electrical, industrial maintenance, or field service experience
OR
Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or related field
Basic understanding of medium/high voltage power systems
Ability to work safely in substations and industrial facilities
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to protective relaying or electrical testing
Familiarity with NETA, NFPA 70E, IEEE, OSHA standards
Experience using electrical test instruments
Military electrical background (ET, EM, MM, etc.)
