MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, System Engineering or other related technical field.
Must be a US citizen or able to work in the US. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with one or more of the following techniques: surface preparation and bonding, mixing and application of adhesives, sealants, and sprayed materials, interpreting NDI (non-destructive inspection) data, interpreting mechanical test data (lap shear, flatwise tensile, etc.), autoclave cure cycle evaluation, organic coating evaluation such as thickness or adhesion testing.
• Familiarity with Environmental, Safety and Health requirements. Knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheets).
• Familiarity with Serviceflo. Familiarity with Depot operations. Experience using hand tools (orbital sander, micrometer, hardness testing).
• Specification, engineering test plan, or other technical writing experience.
• Low Observables Materials familiarity desired.
• Experience with using or executing material evaluations with modern lab evaluation hardware including but not limited to: DSC, DMA, various forms of Spectroscopy, environmental/physical/mechanical test equipment.
• Applicant should be able to support customer and supplier interactions.
• Familiarity with procurement processes and practices.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Signature Materials and Processes Engineer you will be responsible for leading technical efforts that ensure LO material suitability, support supplier coordination, and drive engineering integration across the program.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Resolve issues related to LO material application in production, depot, and operational settings.
- Coordinate with SM&P suppliers and develop/maintain training curricula.
- Develop and author material and process specifications for LO material systems.
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines, operational units, and flight-test teams to align SM&P decisions.
- Assist in planning, qualifying, and executing material development and evaluation test campaigns.
