Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Conducting operational problem testing on main propulsion systems such as main reduction gear, auxiliary reduction gears, propulsion shafting/bearings or clutches/coupling and propulsions to perform repairs and conduct maintenance.

Additional information
Relocation and recruitment incentives up to 25% may be authorized. The current workweek is Sunday through Thursday. Employees hired from continental U.S. will receive Sunday Premium Pay (computed at 25% of basic hourly rate, eight hours per week).
Certain incentives (such as Recruitment or Relocation) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee.
Pay retention may be granted when certain conditions are met.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
Several vacancies may be filled.
A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
Tour of duty will be 18 months unaccompanied/24 months accompanied.
The Office of the Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) limits the number of Bahrain based DoD personnel accompanied tours. Dependent entry approval from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command is required for all accompanied tours prior to extending the final job offer and prior to issuing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. Accompanied tours are not guaranteed.

- You will provide technical assistance on complex technical problems beyond the capability of forces afloat, intermediate maintenance activities, or repair activities to diagnose and correct.
- You will provide authoritative technical engineering guidance to Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) activities and port engineers in resolution of repair/overhaul or test/grooming problems.
- You will perform functional checkout, grooming, adjustment, and test of new or modernized shipboard systems in a systems qualifications test environment.
- You will participate in ordnance alterations (ORDALTs), ship alterations and field changes (PCs).
- You will serve as team leader of organized teams with responsibility for functional checkout, test, and inspection of major systems.
- You will provide technical services in connection with on-scene direct fleet support of major shipboard propulsion systems and equipment.
- You will provide technical assistance for urgent mission-degrading Casualty Reports (CASREP) or similar problems affecting assigned equipment.
