Help
  • You will install, manage and maintain the centers web site and social media accounts, and apply the principles of visual design to create various multi-media presentations, exhibits, and printed media.
  • You will troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with the design and delivery of internet services and collect/analyze internet service usage and performance statistics.
  • You will manage and maintain content on the centers servers containing information and courseware in support of courses and distance learning.
  • You will develop guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), bulletins and flyers concerning the operation/use of center Internet sites, services, and activities.
  • You will serve as the Video-Teleconferencing (VTC) Coordinator responsible for all arrangements for support centers VTC sites and equipment.
  • You will serve as the Visual Information Officer developing and producing a variety of multimedia products including: briefing presentations, brochures, posters, visual course material and screen savers in support of the center.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451 within 12 months of appointment.
Qualifications

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:

1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Developing guides and standard operating procedures concerning internet sites, services and activities.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Meeting with leadership to determine their requirements for web pages.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Serving as a spokesperson for web related issues.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Monitoring functionality of websites and troubleshooting issues to restore service.

In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Applying internet/intranet technical expertise to plan, design, develop, test, implement, manage and maintain websites in accordance with federal regulations; 2) Evaluating hardware/software requirements that support web applications to provide advice to users on upgrades and new acquisitions; 3) Planning, directing, and monitoring internet projects ensuring timeframes, cost and equipment are within organizational constraints; and 4) Using graphical and video software applications (e.g., Adobe Pro, Microsoft Office, WebEx, Photoshop, Indesign) to develop presentations, website design and printed material.

Physical Demands: The work is performed in an office environment but requires sitting at a computer workstation for long periods of time.
