Job Summary

Job Summary
The Electronic Intelligence System Technician role is critical in supporting the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced A/V and electronic intelligence systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer, networking, and server hardware, as well as hands-on experience with cable and fiber installation, general construction practices, and interpreting technical schematics.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain A/V and electronic intelligence systems, including servers, networking hardware, and peripheral devices.
- Install and terminate CAT 6 and fiber optic cabling in commercial and industrial environments.
- Perform physical repairs and diagnostics on network infrastructure, including Internet connections, patch panels, and fiber terminations.
- Interpret and work from wiring diagrams, network schematics, and building blueprints to ensure accurate system installations.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure system designs are implemented correctly and efficiently.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to ensure optimal operation.
- Maintain documentation of installations, configurations, and repairs.
- Adhere to safety and security protocols during all phases of system deployment and maintenance.
- Assist with issues, develop solutions, and create rudimentary schematics of existing and future systems.
- Assist in the support, maintenance, and improvements of identified forward-deployed systems.
- Prepare Ad Hoc/unique products as requested by the Government.
- Engage with the IC, defense agencies, other combatant commands, and other mission partners and stakeholders in support of JTF GUANTANAMO's mission.
Education and Experience
- Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ (Net+) certifications are required.
- Must possess at least one of the following technical certifications:
- AVIXA Essentials of AV Technology
- Extron AV Associate Certification
- Crestron Flex Certification (Core and Tech Tracks)
- Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)
- AMX Programmer (Networked AV) Certification
- An associate's degree or a two-year technical degree in electronics, information technology, network engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Completion of a U.S. Military technical school in electronics is preferred.
- Additional certifications such as BICSI, Cisco CCNA, or manufacturer-specific training are a plus.
Required Skills
- Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of combined experience in computer hardware, audio visual equipment, network switching, and electrical and electronic systems, including high and low voltage circuits.
- Must have a rudimentary understanding of network system topography related to front-end hardware and software setup.
- Understand or be capable of learning new types of technical systems with marginal guidance.
- Must be able to produce basic presentations and have experience with technical writing to capture current and additional system architectures.
- Proven experience in A/V systems, electronic intelligence systems, or related technical fields.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Computer hardware (desktops, laptops, embedded systems)
- Networking hardware (switches and routers)
- Server hardware (rack-mounted systems, storage arrays)
- Proficiency in installing and terminating CAT 6 and fiber optic cables.
- Familiarity with general construction practices and working in active construction zones (Understanding of OSHA 1910 General Industry Standards a plus).
- Must have proven skills using multimeters and other advanced test and measurement equipment. Examples include Fluke 117, Fujikura 19S fusion splicer, and Fluke LinkIQ.
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Wiring diagrams
- Network schematics
- Building blueprints
- Experience with physical repair and maintenance of network infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively to support government-directed missions in austere or deployed environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and best practices
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
