Overview

Nakupuna Companies is seeking a Telecommunications Leader to maintain and manage Inside Plant Service functions, programs, and systems. The primary goal is to maximize mission effectiveness and achieve customer goals by providing technical support for a fully operational Enterprise Network. This includes installation and repair at designated Service Delivery Points (SDP) for copper and fiber connections within facilities, serving BTS AFNET, RNET, and MEDCOI clients. The team supports critical installation and repair services for all Air Force Enterprise of Responsibility (EOR) users on Oahu.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the professionalism, timeliness, and quality of all technical implementation teams, outage/trouble cause identification, scheduled outages, repair response documents, Cyberspace Infrastructure Planning System (CIPS), site surveys, work requests and the overall supervision and control of Inside Plant Personnel and Services
  • Work as a team lead to implement technical support tasks and processes to ensure a fully operational Enterprise Network to include installation and repair at the facility designated Service Delivery Points (SDP) connecting copper and/or fiber inside facilities/locations for the BTS AFNET, RNET and MEDCOI clients
  • Support Project Manager (PM) with program administration actions and ensuring the project is delivered on-time, within scope and budget, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and completion of all tasks assigned under this project
  • Lead the implementation team by demonstrating sound management and execution of Work Request process of fielding, prioritizing and successful completion of work request process for requirements, ensuring highly reliable wired telecommunications connection to support network transported voice, video, and data services
  • Install and maintain inside plant, cable types and proper uses for voice, and data cables, interconnects, patch panels, and wall jacks including shielded and unshielded copper and fiber optic cable solutions from high density patch panels and cross-connect modules to outlets, cables and accessories as required for network installation and terminating fiber and copper cable to ensure proper attenuation and performance levels per industry standard and testable measures
  • Maintain account access for TMS and be qualified and competent to access all work requests for processing customer tickets from beginning to end in both classified and unclassified work requests systems
  • Plan installations by studying customer requests, plans, manuals, facility layout, and technical specifications
  • Perform site surveys that plan and coordinate rack configurations within the Network Infrastructure work center
  • Review requirements and provide Repair Response Documentation (RRD) for each site survey or each repair action using existing Priority Response Matrix instructions to ensure proper maintenance response times and materials are provisioned
  • Coordinate and develop Technical Solutions and Cost Estimates, ensuring equipment, supplies, materials, and tools are available upon assessing installation sites
  • Ensure all installation and repair actions are completed in accordance with performance objectives while providing assistance to the team in all services as both a lead and as a mechanic
  • Execute material procurement and ensuring project completion with follow-up documentation that is updated and accurate
  • Communicate with senior client personnel to determine requirements and execute tasks Maintaining exceptional customer relations Provides status briefings/metrics regarding project progress, ensuring timely submission of completed reports at client specified frequency
  • Provide direction and support technical implementation teams as well as schedule and assign duties of Nakupuna personnel

Additional Internal Corporate Duties:
  • Support the Project Manager with the hiring processes to ensure appropriate staffing
  • Facilitate professional growth for key performers
  • Reward and acknowledge excellent performance
  • Manage end-to-end performance, including goal setting, assessment, coaching, addressing issues, and making compensation recommendations


Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: Must have proven leadership with management and organizational skills, self-motivated, have strong attention to detail, good oral and written communication skills. Computer competency is mandatory for this position.

Education and Experience: The ideal candidate will have an engineering bachelor's degree or comparative years of professional experience in project management or a similar field. This position requires a BICSI certification or other industry standard telecommunication certification.

The following are desired:
  • Experience in Telecommunications Management Systems (TMS) Service Now and Cyberspace Infrastructure Planning System (CIPS)
  • Experience working in a Cyberspace Squadron's Cable environment

Clearance Requirements: This position requires active SECRET security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Travel Requirements: Must be willing to travel and work in any government installation in the United States. Travel may be 20% or more.

Work Location: Work is performed on-site at Hickam aboard JBPHH in Honolulu, HI. Core work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday except Federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation rate for this position is $40.20 (hourly USD). The hourly rate displayed represents the typical hourly rate for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.

This federal government project is subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA). The hourly rate for this position is determined by the location where work is performed. In addition to hourly pay, positions subject to SCA are entitled to a health and welfare (H&W) payment, which may be adjusted based employee selection of company benefits in lieu of H&W.
