Position Overview

The Sr. SQL Database Administrator supports a large enterprise IT program within a classified Department of Defense environment. This role performs senior-level database administration activities in support of enterprise database clusters and standalone database environments operating in a 24/7/365 mission setting.

The selected candidate will manage Microsoft SQL Server environments, support SharePoint Database Services, and ensure the integrity, availability, performance, and protection of mission-critical databases.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform senior-level database administration including database design, structure identification, schema definition, and access privilege management.

• Optimize database queries, manage database instance upgrades, and support long-range database requirements and operational guidelines.

• Maintain database protection mechanisms including data backup, recovery, and application of security patches.

• Review data within databases to ensure user data integrity and maintain database support tools, database tables, and data dictionaries.

• Monitor and manage backend data synchronization applications and external data source retrieval processes.

• Examine customer issues, develop and present technical solutions, and implement corrective actions to restore normal operations.

• Collaborate with senior management and customers to implement technical database solutions.

• Support development and adherence to database procedures and policies.

• Provide mentorship to junior team members.

• Update technical solutions, operations, and maintenance documentation in support of 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of prior relevant experience, Master's degree with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience, Associate's degree with 12-16 years of prior relevant experience, or High School Diploma with 20+ years of prior relevant experience.

• Must meet DoDM 8140.03 IAT Level II (Intermediate) certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher).

• Higher-level knowledge of standards, concepts, and tools sufficient to complete advanced technology assignments.

• Domain-level technical knowledge supporting Microsoft SQL Server database administration, including database maintenance, recovery, patching, and database protection.

• Experience working independently on technical database administration activities in support of enterprise database clusters and standalone databases.

• Experience with SharePoint Database Services administration.

• Experience implementing a broad range of assignments requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.

• Experience developing methodologies and presenting technical database solutions to senior management and customers.

• Experience updating technical solutions, operations, and maintenance documentation in support of 24/7/365 mission environments.

• Familiarity with Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) offerings and management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with managing and administering MySQL and Oracle database architectures.

Pay Range

$110,000-$125,000

The Ennoble First pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
