The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will spearhead the design, testing, and implementation of secure operating systems, networks, and security monitoring tools. This expert-level role entails managing IT security systems, leading incident responses, conducting thorough risk assessments, and developing comprehensive security controls. The Senior Engineer will also drive the research and integration of cutting-edge security tools and technologies to enhance the company's security infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic design and implementation of secure operating systems and network architectures.
- Conduct thorough risk and vulnerability assessments on IT systems.
- Lead and manage complex incident response efforts, including advanced digital forensics and loss prevention.
- Optimize, manage, and lead the enhancement of security monitoring tools and systems.
- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive security controls and policies.
- Drive the research, evaluation, and integration of advanced security tools and technologies.
- Create, document, and present detailed security incident reports to senior leadership.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and team members on advanced security practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to ensure robust security integration across all IT projects.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Information Technology or related Engineering field of study
- 8+ years of experience in a related role.
- Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of related experience is required.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Deep and extensive understanding of cybersecurity principles and network architectures.
- Proven leadership experience with security monitoring and assessment tools.
- Demonstrated experience supporting, troubleshooting, and administering a variety of networks, Operating Systems (OSs), and applications.
- Expert knowledge of data security administration principles, methods, and techniques.
- Strong knowledge and experience administering a variety of current Microsoft platforms.
- Advanced understanding of domain structures, user authentication, and digital signatures.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Extensive hands-on experience with advanced security tools like Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Intrusion Detection System (IDS)/Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), and firewalls.
- Exceptional leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skill.
- Information Systems Security Manager Certified Authorization Professional (ISSM CAP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) Certification.
- Information Systems Security Engineer Certified Authorization Professional (ISSE CAP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional-Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (CISSP-ISSEP) Certification.
- Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) Security+, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) Certification.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Linux, and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security Certification.
- Knowledge of DoD, government contracting and/or public auditing, policies, standards, and procedures.
- Proven track record of maintaining the confidentiality of high-sensitivity projects and data.
- Ability to perform critical-incident response.
- Ability to read and interpret security and technical documentation.
