The Opportunity
The Facilities Technician delivers skilled technical leadership and hands-on operational support to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility performance. This role coordinates daily task execution, oversees repairs and preventive maintenance activities, and sustains operational readiness across all assigned facilities.
Working in close partnership with the Facilities Manager, the Technician supports infrastructure planning, contractor and vendor coordination, supply management, and daily operational oversight of Facilities activities. In the absence of the Facilities Manager, this role serves as the acting-lead for Facilities operations to ensure uninterrupted support and decision-making continuity. Through accountability, technical proficiency, and continuous improvement, this position reinforces organizational standards of safety, professionalism, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
- Serve as the technical lead and primary day-to-day coordinator for Facilities operations.
- Assign, direct, and oversee daily cleaning, restocking, and facility upkeep tasks.
- Verify completion and quality control of all maintenance and cleaning schedules, ensuring consistent adherence to established standards.
- Perform skilled maintenance and repairs on facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Develop, implement, and track preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset lifecycle.
- Oversee and maintain the Emergency Action Plan (EAP), ensuring postings, documentation, drills, and training remain current and compliant.
- Monitor janitorial and facility supply inventories and submit reorder requests to maintain operational continuity.
- Assist in assembling, installing, and reconfiguring office furniture, equipment, and workstations.
- Provide escort support for uncleared personnel in restricted or controlled areas as required.
- Support facility inspections, vendor coordination, contractor oversight, and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety and security standards across all assigned facilities.
Operational Leadership Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day operational coordination and technical guidance to Facilities Support Specialists to ensure task alignment and quality standards are met.
- Monitor work execution for timeliness, safety, and adherence to established procedures.
- Provide input to the Facilities Manager regarding performance observations, training needs, and process improvements.
- Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities related to maintenance practices, procurement strategies, and facility operations.
- Serve as Acting Facilities Manager during absences, assuming responsibility for operational decision-making, vendor coordination, inspections, and communication with leadership.
