Summary
A Flight Engineering co-op is responsible for supporting the Flight Dynamics group in software design and implementation. This is an entry level position and carries out work assignments of limited scope and complexity. Uses a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques in solving problems. Assists more senior engineers in carrying out technical tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Working under close supervision is responsible for documentation and testing of flight software designs requiring the application of current industry design concepts and utilization of basic technical writing skills. Emphasis will be placed on supporting flight group engineers to meet schedule, performance, and budget. Assignments will be geared towards learning real-time programming techniques for flight simulation applications.
Good interpersonal skills are required in this position as interfacing with fellow group members and other engineering group members is essential to the learning process. The person in this position will be expected to report work status concisely and accurately to the Group Leader as requested.

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited degree college/university program majoring in Aerospace Engineering
- Completed at least a year of classes in your major
- A minimum GPA of 3.0
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Willing to learn new procedures and applications
- Analytical math skills necessary to complete the required tasks
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with C++, C#, or Python programming languages a plus

Work Environment
- Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.
- Must be able to work overtime on and off-shifts as required.
- The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues.

- May be required to sit down for long lengths of time.
- May be required to climb stairs.
- Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator.
- Must be able to support rack mounted equipment (up to 7 feet off the ground).
