Job Description
IDS is seeking Construction Surveillance Technicians (CSTs) to support secure construction operations in Misawa, Japan. CSTs are responsible for screening and escorting personnel, inspecting materials, monitoring construction activities, and ensuring no prohibited items or technical penetrations compromise secure construction areas.
Key Duties
• Control access to secure construction areas.
• Screen and escort personnel into or within the construction site.
• Screen and escort materials, tools, and equipment entering the site.
• Maintain accountability of construction materials.
• Manage the Secure Storage Area (SSA) and all items stored within it.
• Monitor construction workers during the performance of tasks.
• Ensure all materials and furnishings are x‑rayed and examined before installation.
• Assist the SSM with random selection and procurement of materials.
• Inspect all persons, bags, tools, and vehicles prior to entry.
• Produce daily logs documenting all activities and events.
• Report all security incidents to the SSM in required formats.
• Report anomalies or counterintelligence concerns directly to the SSM.
• In low or medium technical threat locations, begin surveillance at the start of SCIF construction or utilities installation.
Requirements
• Active U.S. Top Secret clearance.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in one of the following:
- Construction security surveillance
- Technical surveillance countermeasures
- Industrial/government security involving counterintelligence
- Construction quality assurance
• Ability to read/interpret construction drawings.
• Must be able to stand or walk for 10-12 hours daily.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to repeatedly climb stairs in construction environments.
• Meet all medical/physical requirements for deployment to Misawa, Japan.
• Fluent in English; active passport required.
