This role is critical in sustaining secure, resilient communications capabilities across Marine Corps enterprise networks. As a Network Unified Comms Design Engineer, you will oversee advanced enterprise VoIP engineering, identity management integration, network design, and secure voice services across DoD environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Government Lead in daily engineering duties across multiple systems.
- Perform comprehensive LAN/BAN/WAN administration, including scheduling conversions and cutovers.
- Evaluate, design, and troubleshoot communication hardware, software, and network-layer issues.
- Develop and integrate Identity and Access Management (IAM) requirements into existing architectures.
- Engineer and support VoIP/Unified Communications services, including:
- Integration and design of CUCM, Unity, IM&P, switches, routers, and supporting hardware
- Extension Mobility, Unified Messaging, Emergency Responder, Call Center operations
- Design VoIP architectures supporting Layer 3 switching, updated TACLANE configurations, and transition/integration for:
- USMC secure voice systems
- DISA VoSIP environments
- Design and configure auxiliary voice VLANs, PSTN interfaces, fax modules, and voice gateway components.
- Manage hardware/software/network configurations supporting secure videoconferencing across:
- Department of the Navy (DON)
- Department of Defense (DoD)
- Federal partners
- Commercial networks
- Support legacy and modern voice infrastructure modernization efforts.
- Provide daily coordination with Marine Corps stakeholders, engineers, and cybersecurity teams to meet mission needs.
Technical Requirements
- 10+ years of IT experience with a focus on Networking
- Expertise with:
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
- Cisco & Juniper networking
- VoIP / Unified Communications
- Experience with:
- Building CUCM clusters
- Phone & dial plan management
- Cisco Unity and Cisco Presence integration
- VM management
- CUCM upgrades & migration of outdated clusters
- IAT Level III certification , such as:
- CASP CE
- CCNP Security
- CISA
- CISSP (or Associate)
- GCED or GCIH
- Active Secret Clearance
Compensation
- $90,000 - $125,000 *depending on experience*
