- A Valid (FAA) A&P Certificate OR FCC License with Elements 1 and 3 is Required.
- US Citizenship is Required, with a Valid US Passport to obtain required US Govt Security Clearance.
- Install, remove, inspect, test, adjust, or repair avionics equipment, such as radar, radio, and navigation systems in aircraft.
- Installs and repairs electrical wiring and/or cable on aircraft in adherence to established specifications.
- Cuts and strips wire insulates connections.
- Assemble components such as switches, electrical controls, and junction boxes, using hand tools and soldering irons.
- Safely prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.
- Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections.
- Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.
- Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent is Required.
- Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience is Required.
- A valid (FAA) A&P Certificate OR FCC License with Elements 1 and 3 is Required.
- Requirements With (FAA) A&P or FCC; Two (2) years' aviation maintenance experience, Two (2) years of hands-on Avionics Mechanic experience on the assigned UH60, AH64, CH47 MDS (Mission Design Series)is Required.
- All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years.
- Requirements without (FAA) A&P certificate, must possess or willing/able to obtain an FCC License with Elements 1and 3.
- Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, Three (3) years rotary wing aircraft experience and Two (2) years of hands-on Avionics mechanic experience on the assigned UH-60, AH-64, CH-47 (MDS).
- All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years.
- If willing and able to obtain an FCC License, please discuss with your Recruiter.
- Interim NACI approval is required for deployment.
- A valid US Passport is Required for travel to Germany.
Germany specific requirements:
- TESA/DOCPER Approval: (German Govt) Must be able to qualify for TESA/DOCPER approval; (with 5 years career total Aviation maintenance experience).
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt NAC-I (T1) Public Trust Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required to obtain a Clearance and for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory and a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
- Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.
- Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects and may be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
- Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide.
