We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented User Experience Specialist to support enterprise digital modernization initiatives within a Federal environment. In this role, you will contribute to the design and refinement of user experiences across features and modules, helping ensure applications are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with stakeholder requirements. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and development teams to translate functional requirements into practical design solutions that support usability, responsiveness, and accessibility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Contribute to UX design efforts across assigned features or modules within Agile teams.
• Translate business requirements and user stories into wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
• Develop user flows, navigation structures, and interaction patterns to support intuitive user experiences.
• Assist with information architecture and UI consistency across modules.
• Conduct usability reviews and gather stakeholder feedback to refine design solutions.
• Apply responsive design principles to ensure usability across devices and platforms.
• Support Section 508 accessibility compliance and inclusive design best practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
• Collaborate with developers to clarify design intent and support implementation.
• Contribute to maintaining style guides, design standards, and reusable UI components.
• Support stakeholder demonstrations and walkthroughs as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 3+ years of experience in UX design, UI/UX analysis, or related digital design roles.
• Proficiency in UX/UI tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar platforms.
• Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.
• Experience working within Agile or iterative development environments.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to translate functional requirements into clear, user-centered design outputs.
• Attention to detail and commitment to improving user experiences.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
• Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs, is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards and responsive design principles.
• Exposure to enterprise applications or workflow-based systems.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
CLEARANCE:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
