The Northrop Grumman Classified Solutions team is seeking a Level 1 Software Development Manager to join its dynamic team of technical professionals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems support team in Melbourne, FL.

This position is an application administration management role within the Program Support and Services organization. This position will require a split between technical and functional management duties. The ideal candidate demonstrates a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. You have the ability to collaborate within and across teams to accomplish goals. You are committed to ethics, integrity, and innovation while challenging traditional ways of doing business. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and you are comfortable engaging with various customers.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

• Lead a team of application administrators performing direct program work on Apex, also supporting multiple programs
• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
• Use good judgement to pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work closely with program-assigned systems engineering, software development, and management professionals to ensure that the software lifecycle is accomplished with high quality and efficiency
• Oversee and manage the quality and timeliness of the organization's products, and identification and remediation of potential issues before they become problems
• Develop and manage budgets and schedules and create work assignments for tasking
• The successful candidate will have a current full-time Program assignment; with a subset of the time allocated to Functional Manager duties, which fluctuate throughout the year due to business needs and the performance management cycle.

Basic Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree with 5 years of relevant experience, Bachelor's Degree with 3 relevant experience OR Master's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience
• Candidates must have the ability to obtain a DOD Secret level security clearance as a condition of continued employment
• Must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as condition of continued employment
• Leadership experience to include coordinating collaboration across engineering teams
• Experience in Teaching, Mentoring, and Facilitation in a technical environment
• Experience in a distributed team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM related field
• Active DOD Secret Clearance
• Experience with Atlassian Suite
• Strong background in software development, testing, and troubleshooting
• Prior experience with performing software development using agile methodologies
• Proven leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate exemplary professionalism and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
• Demonstrate strong team-building/collaboration skills
• Demonstrated ability to build diverse/inclusive teams with engaged team members
• Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills, and excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
• Previous experience leading a team of 5-12 employees
• Time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
