Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Summer 2026 Intern Aeronautical Engineer for Mechanical Systems.
In this role, you will:
- Research, define, analyze, develop, design, test, and qualify aircraft subsystems.
- Design and test of subsystems and components along with the integration of aircraft electrical, hydraulic, and flight control systems.
- Perform requirements definition in coordination with system engineering.
- Develop, review, and maintain engineering drawings and models.
- Support integration and flight test, production, and sustainment activities.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, or related technical major.
- Coursework in Mechanics (e.g. Statics, Dynamics, etc.)
- Coursework in CATIA
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Landing Gear/ Hydraulics
- Knowledge of General Aircraft
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Mechanisms, and Actuation Design
