Description:Role Overview
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer on the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team in Courtland, AL, you will help produce advanced missile defense technology. You will improve manufacturing processes, support production operations, and contribute to a team that strengthens national security. This role blends technical expertise with collaboration and problem-solving in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
• Use tools such as CREO, Windchill, SAP, and SIMIO to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
• Support the setup of production lines and assembly equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
• Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions and SOPs for consistent, high-quality production.
• Develop, edit, and maintain manufacturing BOMs to accurately track components and materials.
• Implement process improvements and evaluate production efficiency using data analytics and digital tools.
• Provide input on design concepts to ensure manufacturability and alignment with production capabilities.
Work Environment
• Fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment.
• Close interaction with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and program management.
• Work involves both independent tasks and team-based projects.
• Position based in Courtland, AL, with access to production facilities and hands-on equipment.

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must meet all requirements listed below:
• Experience in manufacturing engineering or manufacturing engineering technology.
• Knowledge of manufacturing principles and production line setup, launch, or development.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, Computer Aided Design (CAD) models, product specifications, and other technical data.
• Experience creating manufacturing work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Knowledge of manufacturing bills of materials (BOMs), including creation, editing, and maintenance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
These skills are not required but strengthen a candidate's application:
• Experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) or missile defense programs.
• Basic experience in tooling, fixture, or equipment design.
• Experience in design for manufacturing/assembly or design to cost.
• Experience with development programs or conceptual designs.
• Experience implementing process improvements.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles; Lean or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
• Ability to act as a liaison between subcontractors, internal teams, and program counterparts.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
