The Space and Interiors Division (SIOI) at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is responsible for the management of all furniture in use throughout NGA facilities, to include the provision of furniture inventory management services - receiving, distribution, issuance and disposal - provided at/from the onsite warehouse at NGA Campus East (NCE). The Furniture Installation Technician is responsible for completing repairs, warranty repairs and furniture installation required as part of smaller SIOI managed projects.
The position is located with our government customer in St. Louis, MO. The position is required to work onsite due to the classified nature of the program.
The position requires an active DoD TS/SCI clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.

Responsibilities
- The Furniture Installation Technician is primarily responsible for:
- Managing the furniture warehouse with an inventory comprised of modular furniture, stick furniture, art and branding inventory, chairs and miscellaneous repair parts.
- Assembling and disabling furniture components.
- Tracking and managing all furniture warranties.
- Developing and maintaining the warehouse inventory using the ARCHIBUS Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS)
- Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Assembling and installing furniture items such as desks, monitor arms and chairs.
- Disassembling furniture and returning components to the warehouse, as required.
- Moving file cabinets.
- Inspect and ensure all materials entering or leaving the warehouse are clean and free of defects.
- Coordinating and executing furniture and furniture component warranty repairs as required.
- Sponsoring/escorting furniture repair technicians and exterior furniture installers as needed.
- Conducting semi-annual inventory audits, and report all audit findings to SIOI leadership.
- Providing monthly furniture inventories and restocking recommendations to SIOI leadership.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the warehouse by removing any cardboard, scrap metal, or other refuse generated by assembly/disassembly of furniture.
- Working with Project Managers to ensure furniture installation/removal synchs up with the customers' requirements, most notably move-in/move-out schedules.
- Coordinates with Reasonable Accommodation (RA) Office for non-typical furniture installations and assemblies.
- Ensures proper relationships are established between customers, teaming partners, and vendors to facilitate the delivery and installation of furniture.
- Works closely with assigned staff, senior specialists or task leads.
Qualifications
- Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Required Experience:
- Current TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
- Minimum: 11-14 years of experience.
- Furniture technicians will have access to powered and manual lifts in support of their duties, and shall be able to demonstrate their experience in the operation of manual and power lifts in accordance with NGA safety policies and industry standards.
- Demonstrated experience assembling/disassembling system and stick furniture and related accessories.
- Experience working in program or small to medium project management.
- Experience working on cross- functional teams.
- Experience in a distinct functional or cross-functional business area.
- Experience may be broad-based crossing multiple markets (i.e., government, industry) and may also include relevant/associated certifications and knowledge of applicable tools, methodologies, or best practices.
- Desired Experience:
- Experience working with the Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD).
- Experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience within related field.
- Skills & Technology Used:
- Works closely with assigned staff, senior specialists or task leads.
- Comprehensive computer knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office programs and the ARCHIBUS IWMS.
- Additional skills include: briefing skills, project management, organizational skills, and communication skills.
