Responsibilities
Cyber threats are everywhere, and the constantly evolving nature of these threats can make understanding them seem overwhelming to government agencies. In all of this "cyber noise," how can these organizations understand their risks and how to mitigate them? The answer is you-an information security risk specialist who will break down complex threats into manageable plans of action.
As an information assurance engineer on our team, you'll use your experience to work with the intelligence community to discover their cyber risks, understand applicable policies, and develop a mitigation plan. You'll review technical, environmental, and personnel details from engineers to assess the entire threat landscape. Then, you'll guide your client through a plan of action with presentations, white papers, and milestones.
You'll work with your client to translate security concepts, so they can make the best decisions to secure their mission-critical systems. This is your opportunity to act as an information security subject matter expert while broadening your skills in risk analysis and vulnerability management.

Compensation at EverWatch is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $88.95 to $108.18 per hour. The estimate displayed represents the typical compensation range for this position and is just one component of EverWatch's total compensation package for employees.

Qualifications
You Have:
- Experience implementing cybersecurity and information assurance standards, including evaluating security controls, performing vulnerability and risk assessments, and supporting continuous monitoring activities
- Experience maintaining RMF security documentation, including system security plans, POA&Ms, and risk mitigation artifacts
- Experience analyzing and defining security requirements for Linux or Red Hat-based information systems
- Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and federal information system security compliance processes
- Experience using Xacta or similar Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools to manage RMF packages and authorization documentation
- Ability to identify, report, and resolve security violations and compliance deficiencies while recommending appropriate remediation solutions
- Ability to support senior stakeholders in developing and implementing cybersecurity policies, doctrine, and security requirements
- TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology and 7+ years of experience supporting cybersecurity, information assurance, or information security programs or HS Diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience supporting cybersecurity, information assurance, or information security programs
- DoD 8140 IAT II or IAM I compliant certification
Nice If You Have:
- Experience supporting system authorization activities and working directly with Security Control Assessors (SCAs) during security control evaluations
- Experience supporting enterprise Linux environments in regulated or classified operational settings
- Knowledge of federal continuous monitoring strategies and authorization lifecycle processes
- Ability to translate cybersecurity requirements into operational guidance for technical teams and stakeholders
