THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense
- You will plan and conduct complete evaluations of work operations involving potentially hazardous environmental conditions, analyze findings, and recommend corrective measures and controls with supervision.
- You will prepare preliminary and final technical reports of studies, surveys, and investigations.
- You will evaluate/review the results of sampling performed with other industrial hygienists or industrial hygiene technicians to statistically determine if occupational exposures are in excess of published health standards
- You will prepare notifications as required and document for personnel medical records.
- You will document shops, processes, Similar Exposure Groups (SEG), and samples in the DoD designated DOEHRS-IH database.
- You will maintain other data and metrics necessary to document work accomplished and perform program assessments.
- You will participate in educational programs designed to inform representatives of agencies served by the program and employees of applicable legislation, latest techniques and general occupational health.
- You will apply knowledge of industrial operations and processes, materials and equipment used and by products generated.
- You will use computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite software products (e.g. Work Excel, and/or Access), windows operating system, and Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System.
